No

Shit question

Among the other era-inaccuracies, yes.
Boomland Jenkins wrote:6. When you say "bring back events" are you referring to those pvp events (DD, CTF, tournaments) that leave a decent portion of the player base on the table or are you referring to all events (dungeon raids, DD, CTF, tournaments, bagball, craftathons, escort missions, etc)?
Shit question
Boomland Jenkins wrote:7. What specifically did you like about these events that you can't recreate as a community?
Being 'official'

lol

Thanks, but your answers "shit question" are not accepted. If you can't even be bothered to express your reasons for why you want events, I don't see how anyone can take your need seriously. I'd even go as far as saying you avoided the most important questions.

You can still answer the question.
Boomland Jenkins wrote:4. Did you like the fact that they had multiple events per week (sometimes per day) which let you "play UO" without actually playing UO?
How much UO did you play and how much of your time was actually spent waiting for an event to join VS actually playing UO, aka fielding in Britannia and the Lost Lands?

What event did you like? We've held many types in the history of UOSA.

I played Lake Superior way back when and I played this shard for years and years. I still love me some pvm. There could be a more official gold sink in place like a silver vendor charging 50,000+ gold per 1 coin or more. But for the most part I'm here for other things than the pvp mechanics.
Don't get me wrong, I know that the pvp community is a large bulk of the population and I'm supremely glad there is pvp and I want that sector of the shard to always grow and be healthy, but I disagree if you think everyone is here for pvp. Things like tmapping, dungeon crawling, thievery, barding, minor griefing are still very enjoyable things to do ingame.

I was just pointing out that they are shitty questions. Reword them and they will be accepted. If you can't be bothered to ask unbiased, unloaded questions, I don't see how I can give serious answers. I'm surprised to see your name in red when you so lack the professionalism it deserves. Stop being a passive aggressive wanker and take a serious look at where UOSA is now and what small things you could do to improve it without destroying your shrine of era accuracy.

I'll shut up now

I agree with Bloom. Also agree with freight.
Some of you are so worried about "era accuracy" its just an excuse so you don't have to work out event kinks in my opinion.
But, if that is the reason, then by all means, let this shard continue to lose population to the point where it will just be another one of those "lol 50 people" shard.
By the way, we tried to recreate events, and their not even close to the real thing. Maybe you forgot how much fun those events were. And te tournaments are easy to replicate but, A) a 1v1 tourney now takes 4 hours because its 1 match at a time, and B) when's last time you seen a 2v2, or 3v3? Yea..
Call me a trammy, call me whatever. But the truth is, I just wanted to have fun, and I had a lot of fun doing capture the flags, doms, tourneys etc, now when I log in, I check if my guilds on, which they usually aren't durin the time I log in. Then, I go to the gy where lately its just as dead as anywhere else. And then I go to a few other hot spots like destard, LLs Etc, all dead. Then I hop on irc and see if anyone wants to duel since there's no fielding going on. Usually no one wants to do that either so I just log off. Its pathetic. But I'm the ass hole who annoys everyone to bring back events? Give me a break. If you think bringing back Events would hurt this shard AT ALL, your crazy. Keep on lookin for those fights guys, if I had 5 hours to wait around the gy for a fight, then I would. I didn't complain abou events 9 months so cause the population was still half decent. Now we as a shard are freaking redlined and you guys are to stubborn to see how much 1 little thig could help. I give up the fight. I tried, so whatever.

I won't comment on anything else, and I'm not trying to insinuate anything other than this basic statement; workload has never been a factor in the past for this shard (clearly, this is easily the most reworked and researched free shard out there) and will continue to not be.

FYI this shard hit its peak population long after automated events were discontinued. You can stop citing their removal as the catalyst of population decline now.

Understand me hemp, i never said the gms were lazy, or anything like that. I think with the addition of the new guys especially, they've worked harder than ever. What I mean is, they can't figure out how to fix the "kinks." So they just said f it. I truly feel a few ass holes in our population ruined it for everyone.
I never understood why they just didnt make a rule you have to be blue to join.

Also yes it hit its peak after events.
Funny how we lost 700 people in UNDER a year? Know why? You can only do so much without evolving a 16 year old game.

For the 1000th time I didn't say removing them caused decline. Read my post. I said in it that I said nothing back then because pop was so good. But, now, because its so bad, I feel that they'd provide a spark.

I understand. These issues may have been instrumental in initially removing events as they would have taken some reworking, but I can set the record now that they are not the current factor in events not having been returned.

What IS the current factor that they haven't returned? I assume devotion to era accuracy, and/or admin lack of time and resources?

Yea that woulda been a great excuse... IF EVENTS WEREN'T ALREADY ON THIS ERA ACCURATE SHARD FOR 4 YEARS(2007-2011) AND THEN TAKEN AWAY.

Look what I found:

viewforum.php?f=7

It turns out this shard is continually being updated to make it more era accurate.

It's important to note, although I can't say for sure, but looking through the early pages of the Era Accuracy forum you get the feeling the original intent was mechanical accuracy. Nearly every post is focused on era game mechanics. Which is why people come to the server.

Edit: Too much bullshit not enough point.
