watching your avatar gather resources is not attended resource gathering. it is unattended because it requires no interaction.
i would argue that for it to be legal the player must physically move the avatar himself (including recall because i would presume that there is a method that makes use of that also).

Oh my bad, your not a newb, your just wrong, really really wrong. Nothing he is doing is against the rules period. The end. The important word in the mish mash of drool and theory up there is "unattended." Meaning, a person is not in front of the computer to "attend (see opposite of unattended)" the macro. As long as he is sitting in front of the computer, I'm gonna refrain from explaining the meaning of computer because you figured out how to turn it on and read this, then he is "attending (that word popped up again, hope you're still following me)" the macro. See? Wow, its all becoming clear. Now for some pictures:

Better yet, here's a real world analogy for you: You and your wife are out on a romantic date, and what's this????? You left your children *unattended?????* YOU AREN'T THERE TO INTERACT WITH THEM??? Call the cops now! Oh wait, that's right, you got a babysitter. Your children are being tended to. Even though you aren't there interacting with them, they are in fact *attended.* Nothing to see here, no crime. Even a small mongloid child must certainly understand now.

So again, just because you don't understand macros or big words like "attending" and "unattending" doesn't mean the terrorists are somehow using it to destroy America.

by the way... if the macro was unattended it would not be allowed on this server.

what you are doing is swapping a program with a actual player

and what you are suggesting to be allowed is too easilly abused.

It is true that if it is attended in the way defined by Derrick then it is not a bannable offense, but it is also a thin line in that how attended are you really if your watching a movie and just glancing over at a screen once in a wile, or watching youtube and alt tabbing every 5 minutes or so.

I highly doubt people who run this simply watch macros while there doing it.

How much ore does it pump out?
It mines every type of ore except for verite, and does about 10k ore per 24 hours ran. That’s 20k ingots, 120k gold at 6 per! It can pay off the sale price very quickly, as ive have probably made 2 mil using this same macro.

You think hes sitting as his computer staring at his computer for 24 hours, possibly I suppose. Or perhaps he means a compounded 24 hour over several sessions.

You don't need to be harsh towards him he has a valid point he just expressed it in a somewhat sloppy manner (no offense).

He means to say that when someone is simply running a script to run his clients actions, he himself is not using that client and so it is being unattended in that sense, as in no one is actually playing it.


To put this in baby sitting terms (that seems to be all the rage these days), it would be similar to having someone baby sit your kids while you watch them through a one way mirror you are in a sense at attention to your children, but your not attending to the needs of them.

Meaning #1: not watched
Meaning #2: lacking accompaniment or a guard or escort
Meaning #3: lacking a caretaker

Now as you can see by the highlighted sections above, unattended would mean that it is not being looked after, watched or lacking a caretaker, in other words not being attended to. Now drawing the parallel to Vlastslavs macro would mean that as long as you watch, or check back on your character frequently, in other words running in the background while doing something else, say playing another character, it would be attended to. This is because the character is not lacking a caretaker, and is being looked after. At least when used as described by Vlastslav. And he has also admitted that GMs do come and check up on him while running his automated but attended to macro, and that is the point of it all. Even though it's possible to create a self-sustained macro, fully automated, when used in the wrong way (unattended) it becomes illegal. When attended and a GM requires human interaction from the character, and it can be provided, fully defines the action as attended to, and not unattended.

I understand that some of the people that haven't bothered to write full macro scripts like this think it might be unfair, but to be honest, that is the reason for this auction. If you don't know or care enough about razor macros to make one yourself, here is a one-time opportunity to get one, and as Vlastslav stated before, it will only be sold to one single person, and it'll pay for itself. This auction makes the macro available to anyone who would want to use it, so stop bashing on the guy for sharing the fruits of his labor.

10k ore for 24 hours of gameplay? Sounds kind of low for constant mining.

Constant mining should yield 1k+ ore per hour (~2k ingots after smelt).

Not bashing your macro. Just saying, you probably mine more than you think. It really should be considerably higher unless you're spending a lot of time not mining.
