I have twice receive blank key with the red NPC and threw both times. hmm I threw two castle? I do not know whether they were newbee, the future tell me how to identify the presence of form newbee properties?

Those were keys to unlock the blue prisoner NPC that was with them.

To get the newbie key, you need to create a new character with starting skill Tinkering (at least 1 point). The chance is small, 1/500. To test if a key is newbied, just die with it in your backpack. If when you resurrect it is still in your pack, it's newbied!
