What would the shard gain from this?

If era accuracy is the most important thing on this shard as it seems to be, how wouldn't they gain from removing the party system? I mean it seem pretty hypocritical to say that your goal is to be extremely accurate to the era, and then simply ignore non-accurate features whenever you want. That's the kind of slippery slope that leads to shards like Divinity.

I would advocate removing the party and guild chat systems.

Unless it wasn't 99 exactly, as stated.

My manual mentions crystals but is dated to 98.

I think I started playing in the winter.

Comm crystals for the win.

I hope they get rid of guild/party chat.

a part of me wants it removed but i also think "chat here, chat there, who cares where"

in the end though i would vote for a removal.

whats the point i removing it.
cause it will just force players to use another program to communicate with each other.
and that is not going to do anything in terms of gaining t2a accuracy.
this has nothing to do with t2a game mechanics.

the only thing this will do is force players to
use a spade instead of a shovel so to speak.
use an alternate program that does the same thing.

thus there is no point in deleting it.

Not at all. It makes things more difficult.

decribe your rational behind that.

what having to open a second program is more difficult?

I don't understand your question.

Basically, the elimination of being able to use a "channel" forces players to use crystals, should that be accurate to the era.

This has everything to do with the whole thing about the shard.

rational means reason...
the principle thing that party/guild chat does is allows players to communicate to each other when not in the same location.
so if i dont have party/guild i use something else.
do not external programs like irc do the same thing?
replacing a spade with a shovel...
i doubt comm crystals will be more popular that irc... i never used them back in the day, i used icq.
there is no need to delete this function.

as far as i am concerned if you want a more interactive shard macroing has the biggest affect on this.
but ill try and leave that for somewhere else.

Totally. I'm so down with keeping a little chest of comm crystals to pass to my friends to use!!! Ahhhahaha how fun

Bulletin boards on guild houses also gain more value. Leave a message to other guild mates who might stop by, announce important guild events, etc.

And if all else fails, there is always Ventrillo, or IRC, AIM, ICQ, MSN, Skype, etc.
