I played M&A thinking it would be a UO refresher, boy was I wrong. That game is utter shit.XaN wrote:There's a game called Mount&Armor - its all melee - and from what i've seen the game mechanics are pretty damn good. Aside from the instancing of towns and cities the game mechanics have no flaw. Its a MOD!!!!!! You can change anything you want and make it your own game.
Why don't we all at least make an attempt at turning this into an MMO? Use the engine that's already there for you and make it a little more interesting?
UOSecondage to make a 3D Sosaria?

Lol, you talk like you've played beyond level 7... sounds more like you could only play to level 7 a couple hundred times. It's not a complete product yet and also it is not a "fantasy game" it is based on Medieval Combat which doesn't have Corp Por for you specialists out there. It requires a bit of skill to get a hit on someone, sure the graphics are poor and how you defend and offend is rather limited. If it got polished up a bit more it would be great... I wasn't basing my like of the game on anything other than the fact it was a great way to think up a combat fighting style that was more interesting then hitting hotkeys or macros.
Guess if it stayed like this you would still stand a chance so I understand your point of view...

Played as a steppe nomad horse archer university student up through the demo and ended up buying it because it was so much fun. Riding at break neck speeds through clouds of horsemen going every which way and picking off targets with a bow is fun as hell; especially when you get about 4 or 5 headshots in a row on moving targets amidst all that chaos and confusion. Nothing more satisfying then the thud of an arrow braining a steppe bandit and watching him slump forward in his saddle before falling to the ground.

This man knows what I speak of.
The sheer pleasure you get from stabbing someone trying to run away from you on foot while you are on horseback is hard to match by any other game.
This will be the new genre of MMO's... and I think if you were to jump in the pool now it would be too late, however... if it were like UO, and a bit of this game that I absolutely love I know you would get many hits. Even if you decided to keep the instancing of towns it would still get more hits than your average MMO.
This might be thinking to far ahead but, WoW would be obsolete if this were to happen.

I played Mount & Blade quite awhile back. Is Mount & Armor the same thing?
