As of now, the shopkeeps wont wander too far from thier shops. Is it like this in the demo?

In the demo, enticing shop keepers has no affect, displays a message that goes something like "They seem to busy with their wares to follow you at the moment"... something to that effect.

No you can entice them if you mean the npcs in town...but they cant/wont go too far from their shop.

Yea, I was asking hemp about the demo. Just wondering if the way it is now(the way you said archaic) was accurate.
