The Vendors have names such as "chumbucket", "coffee", etc etc. These were the names of other various players, none of who, other than maybe chumbucket, were that notable. Never-mind the fact that one of the vendors has a GM robe on it, is that allowed?

I do NOT believe that it is era accurate for a player to have CUSTOM named NPCs. If this is allowed for one player, it should be ALLOWED FOR EVERYONE.

Derrick, when are you available to custom name the NPC vendors in ACE village? As soon as you tell me, i'll pm you with the desired names.

This shard is about T2A accuracy, stuff like this sickens me. I'll pry my foot out of my mouth, however, if evidence is provided to prove me wrong. However, if so, I'd still like to know how i could get my own custom NPC vendors.

For the record, I have nothing against this museum. My friend and I have donated several items in support of the museum. We only desire T2A accuracy.

Thanks.

In this case, player towns were somewhat era accurate. Player Town Vendors WERE NOT ERA ACCURATE. Please Remove ACE's Stablemaster for accuracy reasons.

Thank you

Do a forum search before you post such drivel. Player town NPCs are 100% accurate, especially stablematers. This has been proven many times.

I disagree, I think they were all very notable in the development and ongoing history of UOSA.
That robe you see on Nevermore is in fact Nevermore's robe, an interesting tid bit. Infact, the original Nevermore statue that was seen for sometime was actually Nevermore, logged in and standing in the museum!

I hope you enjoyed your visit.

(edit: aside from Nevermore's exhibited robe all items on the vendors are not customized. They were mostly donated by the individuals represented by the statue, for accuracy sakes.)

Ok you're correct. I don't remember them, but obviously they existed.

Also since you are trying to PROVE something to be changed, please provide accurate details of custom names on public vendors not existing.

Actually now that you mention it, I remember custom public vendor names (or do I?) prove it otherwise since it is already implemented on the server.

This is where things get sketchy with being so hardcore about era accuracy, and picking and choosing what we will allow. This museum was going on and being put together during the time that I was inactive, but I'm looking somewhere on the forums for a request or an application for these "statues" and I don't see one. Personally I think it's a little absurd that blackfoot gets to pick and choose who goes into the UOH "Hall of Fame". The clarification between wether it's UOSA museum or UOH museum isn't concrete either. I believe it should be up to the GMs to hold the events (if were going to do so to see who gets into the HOF), decide unanimously amongs themselves, or let the shard as a whole vote on whom to put into the HOF, or at least what kind of event to be held for induction. I would like to suggest the requirement of trophy points equivalent to a unique rare for each "statue" and for everyone to be able to acquire one. I've got nothing against anyone on this shard when it comes to things like these but to be fair....ACE or anyone else with a public house should be able to acquire statues for the same value that blackfoot has acquired them for his museum.

It's in there somewhere. He asked for some historical figures and people suggested some. It's not like he just chose at random or something.

Everyone is OK with era accuracy until it somehow interferes with something that they want. I find it saddening that people on this shard will jump up and down and cheer for an accuracy change/nerf about something that helps them, but when a change is suggested that they don't want, they cry foul.

This is an era accuracy post, this isn't a whine, nor is it a rant. If era accuracy changes bother you, I suggest that you do not visit this forum.

Mirage has broken down the problem here in much greater detail, please view his post above.

One other thing you must remember is that Derrick did this for a reason. It's not like Blackfoot woke up one day, haxxed the server, and added in the statues. It took an effort and decision by Derrick to happen. Clearly Derrick saw that these statues and museum are only trying to provide a service to the shard and he decided to give them some names.

UOSA mimics the mechanics of the era, not the policies. It was possible in era for GMs to change the names of vendors, even if it was not allowed. This is Derrick's server, and he makes the rules. He provides a great service to all of us for free, and he is allowed to do what he wishes. What makes UOSA great is that he chooses to make the most era-accurate freeshard out there, mechanic-wise. Don't like it? Then get out.

i say we make this very simple .. the musem is great and most players at its build time were in fav. of it and yes it was in forums i don't belive it was a poll but under a suggestions for .. thread and the NPC statues was proposed many seconded then some names were asked to be chosen ...

i suggest .. we (the shard/staff and management) buy the building from blackfoot .. for deed price .. plus what ever dec. (not rares) he has invested ..
we then take a vote for manager of mus. (i'm sure black will win )

I think this might be good for all .. era acc. question is meet .. vote question is meet .. and BlackFoot dosn't have to keep PAYING for these vendors ..

I'm pretty sure that if blackfoot would win the election for manager no one that has temp. donated items for display would want them back or feel any less safe about were they are??

Am I Crazy ??

any other ideas

any of this seem unusual and not era accurate?

GMs on many shards have given back to historic guilds and those that contributed much to the overall experience of the players of the realm.
Blackfoot understands everything that wasn't his originally is on loan, probably to include the vendors and wax statue.

If you want to talk accuracy

During the original T2A era to recieve special treatment as a guild, the guild had to contribute postively to the shard and be an integral part of its history.
Towns could not just be bought.

Blackfoot doesn't own everything in the museum.

The museum is a collaborative and ongoing effort between the players of UOSA and UOSA's creators. The goal is to keep a real catalogue of past progress and events for our own benefits. Sure, we could do this by taking screenshots and cataloging everything on a webpage or forum, but that doesnt seem in the spirit of UO at all.

Everything that I personally own, I have donated to the museum. It will never be leaving the museum. It is now property of UOSA. Many other players have done the same thing. They didnt donate the items to me, Blackfoot, they donated the items to the the museum, they will never be sold, bartered, or traded for. They will remain in museum exhibits for all time. This is to benefit all players and staff of UOSA.

Please, when considering the statues try and keep in mind what the museum is. The museum is just as much Derrick's as it is yours or mine. He just has the ability to help us keep track our history in a bit more creative ways than we can on our own. Those statues currently in the museum are property of every player on UOSA. So when you say 'he got statues why cant i?' the answer is simply, you have just as many statues as everyone else.

The accuracy of the museum/statues/items in it, has been brought up and debated before. If this is post is indeed about the accuracy of the statues and not some other agenda look through the forums and read your answer as it will be in many other previous threads.
As has been stated more times than should be necessary, the 'accuracy' debate, applies to the mechanics of the game, not on policy decisions made by staff.

As for deciding on who is entered into the museum in statue form I have asked many times and even put up contests. Since the first batch of entries I have received little input. At that point it has become debates between a few of the oldest veterans with staffs approval, as they have to build them. (it does take some time to build each one of these)
If you would like to see certain historical figures added, say somthing. Make a post with an explaination as to why you think they should be added. Do this in the community forum or the museum thread.
