that's what I don't really understand, test it twice. give a bit of notice and see the counts. If it doesn't warrant the time and hassle then understandable. But you have multiple people offering to give contributions to the server if its even tested. How is that not a win win?

We also have multiple people offering (regularly) to contribute to the server for an ageless home, skill ball, gold, pet bonding, neon hair dyes, and more. We don't add/create features for monetization or contributions. If someone genuinely likes Second Age they should contribute, not hold their dollar at the door waiting for their requests to be met.

thats not what we are doing at all!! I am saying I genuinely like secondage and what I really meant was I would contribute and/or subscribe more if there was more population. Me not contributing recently isn't because there are no events, its because the server is dieing a slow death and the staff don't seem to be doing anything about it. I haven't seen anything official at all addressing our serious and valid concerns. There simply aren't enougnh people on the server anymore, and if the staff don't care about the server, why would someone donate at all? I think a lot of people's frustration about population manifests itself as asking for events back. Events have been gone for years and honestly it didn't affect the population much one way or the other when we did have them. I think what we should really be saying is get population up, then we will subscribe. I don't really honestly care how it gets done, but events DO seem to be the easiest thing to try. But then again, I haven't heard anything offical from the staff except to defend their position. Haven't seen any brainstorming, forum for discussion, or anything to imply that the staff are actually doing something beside answer pages. Seems like the general response from staff is if you don't like it leave. The direction the server is going it won't last until the end of the year imo. If you guys want to step up and make something happen either through events or some other channel, you will find that players will support you 100%. The whole point I was trying to make is if POPULATION goes up, however that is accomplished, I and many others will donate more.

The new staff are doing everything they can. That's not a fair statement.
They've done everything but bring back auto events. So I give them props.
I just wish he/they would do events again.
Notice the word "again" they've already did events years ago so why not one more time? Give it two months if it fails take it out again, but if it works it saves uosa.

Name 1 thing they've done to fix population concerns. We aren't even listed on most UO voting sites...not trying to give them shit but its kind of on them at this point. On a personal level they are all cool dudes (mostly) and I am not ragging on any one in specific but I don't know of any changes made to server any time recently any I can't find any marketing through google searc..I hear that they are trying...but what are they trying to do?? If raise population is on their agenda I personally cannot find any evidence of it??

As far as I can see, they're not trying to raise the population at all. They're working on the server and relying on the community to promote from within. However, the regular word of mouth strategy is a long exhausted option for UOSA and there needs to be marketing done. I don't believe GMs will be the ones to do it, so please stop blaming them. They work on the shard less than most of the PvPers play, to be completely fair. With that, I imagine they're not going to try to incorporate a marketing strategy. I'm actually spectacular at marketing and I won't do it either. I remember that over a year ago I made a thread about using my SEO and P2P abilities to help someone or a group of people do it for me, because it's truly a lot of work. That said, no one is going to step up at any respectable level... so if you want to do it, start it out solo and come back with some results. That's how you get the boat moving.

I own a small buisness. Promoting the buisness is not on my customers...its on me and my staff. Marketing and promotion, among other things, is the sole responsibility of staff. I can't even say they are working on the server..I haven't seen an update in almost 3 months. And that update was 3 minor bug fixes. Why would I put my own personal time and effort if it's just going to fall on deaf ears and a bad case of nonchalance. Trying to stay respectful and constructive here; I honestly don't know what the staff are working on or doing...but I can say I am not seeing any results. Maybe more transparency or some sort of timeline or topics they are working on would help. The image portrayed by staff, at least to me, is they are there to answer any pages like a counselor, not to promote or do anything substantial.

This is not a business.
Get that straight right now.
This is a free UO server where slaves (what staff really are, intelligent slaves) use their field singing time to code. There have been several patches that I'm aware of (server resets taking 26-28 minutes instead of 7-8) in the past month alone. <--- important for IDOCing

Print out some flyers and post them around your town.

How about staff makes it so the world can vote and see Secondage online??
http://joinuo.com
http://www.xtremetop100.com/ultima-online
http://www.gamesites200.com/ultimaonline/
http://www.top100arena.com/ultima-online/
http://www.uogateway.com/
It is something so simple and easy its ridiculous we aren't on there. Being on any one of those sites will increase traffic to SecondAge at very little effort to the staff.

Something to take in account. All uo shards are currently suffering from declining log ins. There's only so many gimmicks you can add to such an old classic game before it gets too cheesy and tacky and ezmode/unfulfilling. If people like what other places have to offer that is fine. But Uosa isn't known for having updates every other week.
I'll just take this time to give props to boomland and the rest of staff for their dedication. Boomland specifially deletes his most worthy ingame pixelated possession (I first thought this was to get attention before a grandiose display of quitting:wrong!) let's millions fall to the ground for the community; then proceeds to take a position of being on the front lines of dealing with and trying to improve a demanding doomsday community who constantly accuses him and others of inactivity and apathy for the shard they've been apart of for over 6 years. Thank you guys. Populations never last forever. I trust the right decisions will be made to get the population up again.
