I know it wasn't me, but my point remains valid. You res on the battlefield, you get re-smushed.

Well, I had fun! My apologies for killing benny during a lesson on using refresh pots! At least I know a katana is effective against an unarmored mage standing still not thinking he's going to be hit :-) However I did learn quite a bit:

1) UO group pvp is like any other mmo group pvp...kill the healers first, Hally/Mages next, and leave the tanks for the end when you can gang up better. Cattie kept Pirul alive pretty much forever in our group battle lol. Even when I harrassed her, she just kited me like a toddler running with candy :-) I'm guessing if we had taken her out quickly...battle over.

2) It seems that assist trains in group pvp would be effective. I think our group got a bit spread out trying to engage too many targets, then get picked off one at a time. Using vent could make this happen easy. Is there a way to paint targets for groups in UO or razor? This could be good too to have a main assist call/paint targets then let the train roll :-) However, with more confidence and experience playing together, we'll probably get to the point where we know who to hit first more naturally when attacked.

3) Warriors are decidedly potion and bandage dependent. Armor/weapons didn't seem to be as big an issue as having plenty of potions and timing those bandages! What is the timer on potion usage?? Once I was targeted it seemed like I was running through them pretty quickly.

4) I think with more practice and setting up different scenarios...our guild will rock pvp! The spontaneous mage assault was cool as that gave kinda a real game situation feel to it..now if we can do that while a group is fighting mobs!

As the title now says, we'll be holding our second pvp session this Thurs., June 17th, at 11:00 pm Est.

As before all members and allies are encouraged to attend. Bring only gm gear (magics may not be used).....potions will be provided.

Since our previous session covered much of the basics, this next session will focus almost entirely on actual practice. Bring the char you wish to learn to pvp on and come die with us!

And I actually have a real PvP character to bring now! He still needs some macroing for wrestling, but otherwise is at least half-decently battle ready.

Can I bring my cop or would you prefer I bring my C^V char, b/c now that Atraxi is finished, I'll be patrolling the cities more and will need to know how to fight. I mean, if I was to bring a C^V char, I'd bring Davros, and he and Atraxi have pretty much the same skills, except Davros has 2 Magery-related skills, whereas Atraxi replaces those with Detect and Forensics to allow me to catch thieves.

Bring which ever you'd prefer..doesn't matter if the character is guilded or not. However we will be doing a lot of pvp against mages....Im not sure of Atraxi's build, as he is more of a townie char, but up to you.

Thieves use magery, too. Atraxi is almost GM resist, so I can fend off attackers outside town. Besides, any spells shot at me may help me fill those last few points towards GMing resist.

Great session last night. Loads of fun, with it's, now typical, dose of drama. Got some pretty cool SS of the later part of the practice, I'll try to post them later.

I especially like that one. That's ok, I got my revenge on McScabs at the end with my sneak attack from The Duke.

The Duke may not get out much these days, but when he does, he likes to make sure it is memorable!
