alas if the hammer must fall it must fall!

I agree with your theory here blackfoot and i understand it. Because as the hammer starts to fall people like matron and many others will find clever ways to work comments into threads the same way by weaving in and out of the rules set forth. Things could get worse before they get better but it has gotten way too out of hand.

I would like to hear what the GM's plan on doing about this.

the second rule of the internet = if you allow the same people to disrupt things,
you can count on them to continue.

What's the point of rules if they're not enforced? You might as well combine the trade forum and trash talk if that's the precedent.

Matron is not the problem with the trade forum, a cursory glance at who derails threads the most shows this.

I would agree.

Slapping Matron on as the face of the trade forum problems is really inaccurate. The people who consistently disrupt trade threads have just been mentioned.

If the trade forum cannot be moderated it's usefulness is gone and it should just be removed. I don't want that happen, but I see no other alternative if the moderators are too worried about counter-trolling to get rid of trolls.

I have only offered alternative bid amounts with a value assigned to each section of the bid. There is no rule currently against this. Please refer to the rules section if you're accusing me of a violation. Otherwise, this is merely libel and in a greater sense more rule breaking than anything I've done previously or currently.

It isn't libel. You intentionally de-rail threads and you know it. Don't be deliberately obtuse when it suits you.

It is libel as I have broken no rules and only offered alternative bid amounts. This is neither against any stated rule or has any potential to derail unless you acknowledge the bid as having value worthy of consideration.

Forum Rules

* Posts within a specific forum should be related to that forum's intent (i.e. posts in Second Age Discussion should be about Second Age).
* Intentional attacks on another forum poster based on their in-game or forum conduct should be limited to the Trash Talk forum.
* Posts intended to derail threads or start a trash talking match between forum posters should be limited to the Trash Talk forum.
* Profanity should be kept out of the indexed forums (everything except the "Other" forum), and kept to a reasonable level outside of the Trash Talk forum.
* Civil and productive discussion of "racy topics" is allowed in the "Other" forum.
* Racist or sexist remarks used for nothing other that inflammatory comments do not have any place on the Second Age forums, including the Trash Talk forum.
* Posting any personal information about another poster is strictly forbidden in any section of the Second Age forum
* Forum signatures will contain appropriate content for a family-friendly environment.
* Posters will not provide links to locations that contain trojans or other malware/viruses.
* Posts which are intended to promote other servers are not allowed. UOSA forums are not to serve as advertisement avenues for other servers (although the discussion of such servers is perfectly OK).
* As with the IRC rules, enforcement of these rules is up to the discretion of the moderator and may be retroactively enforced. If you should have a grievance regarding the way in which a moderator acted, please PM Derrick or another UOSA staff member.
* At any time, any UOSA staff member may perform a reasonable addendum to the above rules.

To report a post, simply click the "Report Post" button (Image) and fill in the appropriate information. Please do not abuse the "report post" feature. Only report posts you genuinely believe to be breaking the listed forum rules, or if you feel that the post should be called to the attention of the moderators. Abuse of this feature will lead to forum account warnings, possible limited forum access, or forum bans.

To address yours, there is no intent to disrupt, offering an alternative bid amount is not an intentional disruption if the total value is similar.

You should read the following, please take your baseless libel to the trash talk forum.

In the time I've been here this issue has come up. GK wanted to set up an alternate forum but never got around to it. Maybe we can make it happen this time.

That is up to interpretation.

As moderators we have had more reported posts of your intentional derailments in the past month than we have had in the previous three years of the trade forum combined.

Its hard to interpret this as anything but you intentionally trying to troll the forum.

This is how it will be interpreted by the trade forum moderators from this point forward.

Now you know.

If you think this is unfair, take it up with Braden or Nevermore, they are far less patient or lenient as we are.
