Blackfoot that actually sounds like an era accurate duel.

No, red pots are always allowed you'll never meet a mage who says "no, food only". Just doesn't happen. This is accurate to 1999.RoadKill wrote:Why not just go with..
No potions
Yes to food, but have hunger take affect
Isn't that how most duels are done outside of tournaments?
Not because of my ping, if you read my first post you would see I mentioned that it will make duels more era accurate. Never in the history of UO did mages eat unlimited food (spamming it) to gain stamina. Instead they drink a red potion to get full stamina then fight and cast spells. Not run around spamming food hoping to juke players who had low pings. These are very moot points you guys are trying to argue, and these rules have been in place for nearly 3 years now. What makes you think they're going to be changed just because one player has a terrible ping and feels he is entitled to his own special rules?
Tabbing still has its place, it's just not as useful since most mages started to spam the hally for most of the fights. On the field it still works well and I manage to use it to my advantage.Panthor the Hated wrote:Its irrelevant to the topic but tabbing to save swings is so 2009, tabbing doesn't help anymore.
The fact is tournys should be as accurate as possible, which means hunger should count. Obviously it would make sense to reset hunger to 0 at the beginning of every fight but it needs to be there.
Take it to trash talk and don't derail my suggestion threads with nonsense, thanksSandro wrote:nice edit, had to rethink all that nonsense you just wrote eh?

Sandro wrote:Yes, but that brings the original problem which we fixed in 08' with macers having the upmost advantage when a player becomes full and can no longer eat food, and reaches 0 stamina. If we remove infinite food, then we're back at square one.
There is nothing wrong with the current setup.
No no, redpotsonly is so that when two dexers fight they don't run out of stamina and drag out the fight until sudden death. It has nothing to do with the hally-cycling exploit that did not exist in such a drastic form during actual t2a...RoadKill wrote: The way I look at it is, macers get the major stamina drain. Swordsmen get the big hally hit. Allowing unlimited stamina refresh pretty much removes one of the perks to picking mace fighting. Might as well let heal potions be allowed so macers can negate the big hally hit a little easier (which would not be negated at all considering you can swing a hally faster than you can chug heal pots)
I have no doubt as an old school UO player(started in 1998) that something is certainly inaccurate with the hally cycling/exploit, but that's another thread of its own!MatronDeWinter wrote:No no, redpotsonly is so that when two dexers fight they don't run out of stamina and drag out the fight until sudden death. Yea I know and I believe the exception should be made with red potions. You do realize that having food only actually hurts dexers. Once a mage combos a dexer he has to eat food multiple times in a row to get his stamina back up because spell damage takes off large chunks at a time.Panthor the Hated wrote:Its a no-pot tourny.
