Because no one believes GuardianKnight anyways.
And I can see invisible people...please don't take it away!

Why are you assuming that we have not witnessed it first hand? Can you see invisible staff members?
I dunno, from a purely logical standpoint I would assume just that becuase if the staff saw it first hand I would think they would have solved it right that second :-p
At any rate, im sure someone could set up an account that auto starts an RPV every time an event starts and ghosts it. Then there'd be a record of each. Of course...this is the flaw of trammel you see...the more rules you put in place to prevent players from doing things the more ways people find to break the rules and the more you prevent people from policing themselves. I call it the trammy effect.

If a player sends no packets for t duration of time, kick them from the event. Make it so that afk event macroing is right on par with other cheaty things like afk mining and whatnot. If the penalty is heavy enough (might lose your items, account, etc) then there would be little incentive to afk in events. This would also render the "I wasn't afk I was just having connection issues" excuse moot.

Pretty sure you are always sending packets to the server even without moving or using skills or anything .. and they would do something like run a stupid say Item id macro if the latter was not the case. I however agree that some thing should be done just not really sure what can be done . other then saying you can't join more then one event per ip .. and that wouldn't totally stop it and would cause problem for some families I'm sure .

Then why would (real osi) uo boot you for inactivity...

not sure never played OSI never claimed to ...
But in all network connections I can think of off hand there are always packets being sent (if even just a connection check).. now if OSI had a script that detected min. packet transfers and such then that would explain that .. but pretty sure that would be pretty hard to write seeing it would need to monitor ever connection and thus add alot of needed power to the servers. (and seeing a simple razor macro could bypass this script ) I just don't think it will be something worth the time to script ..

Has anyone successfully macroed resist in events? Unlimited regs and near instant respawn if you die?

I used to spend events casting firefield and training resist to 55 for free, but I was told it's frowned on.

I can understand a having lives and jobs, etc. But a week long without viewing a PM? Not exactly strenuous time taking activity.
Shouldn't this go under evidence on why automated events should be gotten rid of? It's basically admitting neglect and giving out free money to dodge questions. Not to mention not era accurate.
