I watched the pretty pictures of Telamons' runebooks. Telamon can not spell Papua properly.

If 2 or more players are doing this at one time, it wont work. The sell value of the scrolls will go down dramatically after they have been sold a truck load of scrolls.

It works the same way the jewelers work, once you sell enough gems to them, they begin to pay less and less.

I didn't really read the OP, but unless there is some exploit that bypasses the over stocked function of the NPC vendor's, then I should be right in this matter.

Also, I am willing to bet that you can make more gold farming with a Tamer. (80k ish per hour at elder gazers)

I always felt this game needs some kind of gold sink for the ultra-rich. I'm very casual which is why my net worth is probably only 3million after well over 2 years of play. People much newer than me are worth 10x as much. There needs to be a sink to remove gold from the system not merely shuffle it around with the rare trade.

The issue would be balancing the gold sink, namely the issue between it being desirable for the rich, not unbalancing the game further, and not being so desirable as to strongly encourage extreme methods of gold farming such as Telamons above. Possible? Dunno, smarter folk than me should ponder it I suppose.

I think Telamon's macros/methods are great! But if everyone is doing it... isnt that socialism?

Realistically they cant since there are only so many vendors as Rose points out however this levels the playing field making everyone even, a socialist ideal no?

Ask yourself how old UO is, more importantly as yourself how long people have been freesharding.

1 -- Get it fixed so the separation of wealth remains the same.
2 -- Make it so more people are doing it and thus making it useless for every one...
3 -- He's just playing his game how he wants to play....He enjoys posting game changing posts...like the Razor Bug Post, and this post being the most resents. Its like setting up a table full of domino's and seeing how they will land....(This being the most likely i think)...

Either way i do think that less than 40% of the server reads the forums or join's IRC....and then out of us 40% maybe only 5-10% will do it...So in reality will anything change? Probably not.

I think guides like this are sort of fascinating. At minimum it's a window into other ways to do things. Hell, I still manually click all of my spells and targets and my only hotkey is 'double click moongate' so while this is an interesting read it's definitely something I look at and think, "well I'm certainly not doing that." I suspect most people won't have the dedication to even try this and those who do try won't stick it out for long. That said, I don't think it's a big revelation that scribes make money from NPCs. When I made my scribe years ago, I was surprised that not only did selling the scrolls back to NPCs pay for the training, I made money training it. I've advised many people to make a scribe for that reason, and because they are just handy to have. I've often thought about just scribing and selling but never really got around to it. Obviously not to this level of efficiency...

Hilarious that the OP thinks the result of everyone doing this will be that everyone will afford grandfathered rares. Economics fail.

Im not opposed and there arent enough vendors for everyone to do it. I guess there are a few that will stick it out and get super rich.

My point is that either its going to inflate the price of rares, or there will be people (like me) who will devote their time to making the macros malfunction. A purple "plot" was already hinted at (tee hee).
