What is it about UOSA that attracts the "racist words are freedom of speech so I will say them a lot but I'm not racist and racist words aren't really racist cause words only mean what i want them to" crowd? And this crowd divides cleanly in to two groups:

* possibly racist twits who haven't the first clue how freedom of speech works in the United State and with goofy ideas about why racist language bothers people

and

* racists pretending to be in the first group.

Freedom of Speech in the context of the First Amendment does not apply here as the First Amendment relates to public institutions (e.g. institutions that are managed or funded in part or whole by the government). Privately owned organizations (such as UOSA) are allowed to moderate the speech and actions on the service.

I was under the clear impression that the staff WOULD NOT ban or suspend someone from the shard due to foul language, racial slurs or other abuses of the typed word (I understand that you can't use certain character names although trying to do so is obviously not bannable). There have been numerous other threads beating this issue to death.

Am I wrong about this? Did this policy change?
give it a break dude, you think you can come in here and throw money around and get ppl banned for hurting your feelings? if you cant take name calling I doubt youl be able to take a house looting. just set up the speech filter and be done with it
Umm I was asking a serious question. Read the thread so you understand the issue, go back on your meds and STFU.

The sad thing is that the people using these racist slurs actually find humor and enjoyment in doing so.

What happens in the game is inconsequential, to all of us. But if you're a person who feels compelled to use this language, whether in this game or otherwise, there is something WRONG with you. Either you're just a pathetically ignorant person and you somehow missed the message that ummm racism = bad, or you actually DO understand what these words signify, in which case you're basically evil. Both are unappealing traits.

Nice trolling.

I'm on a high horse for condemning racism? Giddyup then. You disagree with my view on racism? If not, your post makes no sense. If so, you think racism is OK. Congrats.

The primary reason that names are changed is because they appear on our website (my.uosecondage.com) and we would prefer that the search engines not index these names as search terms.
