Dragons are decent $$, but I farm them occasionally for the good magic weps they drop. My force/power chests are starting to get full
If you want good money for a warrior, destard is not the place for you. Shame is amazing money. Earth eles drop something in the area of 120-180 gp, and a lot of times multiple gems. The other day an earth ele dropped 3 diamonds, a ruby, and an emerald. Add that to the gold it dropped and thats like 700 gp right there.
Im to the point where I dont need to keep this to myself anymore, but if you lack barding and magery skills, find the Fire ele room in shame. 4 of them spawn there, and a few eles, including 2 more fires spawn outside the room. You can farm these guys in a circle and make 5k in 10 mins easy. Fire ele loot is great, 400+gp and gems, scrolls, and the occasional magic item(dont think i got anything higher than force but its somethin). Doesnt hurt that they are easy either. Id just start on earth eles till you get into at least upper 80s in your weapon skill and some healing.
This is how I funded my first mage, bought a large brick, and farmed up well over 150k in a couple days.

I played an archer back on OSI and never had any problem not using magic.

Absolutly wrong. This isnt warcraft. One of the greatest things about UO was the ability to solo even the toughest monsters...if your good enough. Mages have always been powerful. However, that being said I think magery is waaaaaaaaaaaaay to easy to gain on this shard.

I just figured that I would add...
You can (well on OSI T2A) kill dragons/L.Lords/Elder Gazers with a warrior, solo. I bet you can do it here to, without archery. I'm talking full plate armor of protection with a good magic weapon and a shield, you need that shield. L.Lords are the first ones you should tackle, they die quick even with a silver-force weapon. You just need to learn how to get close and trade blows then take off and heal.

I've killed everything on my warrior but an AW, Balron, Nightmare, or Dragon. 45AR, magery, and potions.
Lich lords are a joke

Just make a mage then. lol.
Anyways since my character is noobie, I just started here and have no money I made one character to gather supplies and hunt monsters to make gold while I have my other character macroing. Mind you I have little resist and magery but higher fighting skills. I just hit the monsters run away heal up come back hit some more...repeat. They can not heal nearly as fast as you can. It is possible to solo things... Maybe not as easy as a mage...But in that case you should also be whining about provokers, tamers etc etc..
I think the game is plenty fair.

post is pointless, Learn how to adapt with whatever character you play. You can kill anything with a warrior. Plus, you can always create a hybrid character.

Not to mention having magery on any character doesn't make that character a "Mage"
It's a cheap & easy 100 skill investment that should be on practically every character to some extent
