Actually food has 2 purposes here: when you eat you replenish a little stamina and the fuller you are, the faster your passive HP regen is.

Ive done tests with food because some feel its so important for other things. And heres what I have found out. Skill gain wise, on my tinker, I didnt eat anything for hours, and then tested this. From 98-99 it took approximately 4k ingots of heating stands (4 a piece), thats about every 100 crafts I gained .1. Now heres the kicker, I then ate on a full stomach, and made heating stands from 99-100. Only took me 1950 ingots. Being full must help skill gain too.

Just because you used less ingots, doesn't mean it was because of the food.

Yesterday I gained .5 VET after 18 hours of macroing. Today, I've gained .6 in 4 hours.

I never touched a piece of food or changed my macro in anyway.

Your absolutely right. And it is possible it could just be quincidence. But think back to the OSI days, and sometimes even now. Why is it you would fizzle an An Corp 10 times in a row, then eat, and all of a sudden it works. Or when you were stuck at 99.9 of a skill, then eat, and you finally get the gain. Or how you are missing hally shots left and right and then eat, and finally hit a string of 3 in a row or something.
I know these could all be coincidence. And they probably are, but you cant ignore the fact that its one hell of a coincidence if thats the case!

Ash is right. Admin has stated in the past that food does not help skill/stat gain, so I'll take their Word for it (plus my own empirical evidence which shows nothing to support that food helps skill gain).
