This server has longevity, for sure... and... well.. yeah that is it.

No staff, no events, insane inflation, not much action at all, crazy amounts of bugs, no patching, no pop, crutch pvp... But IPY was trash.. lol

This isn't the place for you to demonstrate your endearment for trammel. Your original post was even wrong.

IPY was hardly trammel. And Vega talking about trammel is irony at its best.

But I digress, this isn't the thread for this convo.

Asan, there is no "best free server" IPY was shit too. NOTHING will EVER compare to original OSI 1997-1999/2000 pre trammel UO. Nothing. And honestly, arguing about what server was the best after that is all opinion. Nothing compares to the original. IPY was full of assholes and idiots who didnt know how to pvp. The only reason IPY was popular because it was the first server after OSI turned their back on us that people could flock to. Now UOF is the hot topic, and LOL @ UOF. Looks like the fucking trammel capital of the world. UOSA, IPY, all the free servers are going to have some type of appeal to certain players, because we all liked different eras of uo. But the reason I come back to here is because its the only server that refuses to change regardless of what people say. I will say one thing, they took the events out because a few people got in the GMs ears and started complaining (funny how those same people dont even play anymore), but if they brought server events back, I would be completely content, thats my only gripe. Point is, nothing will ever compare to the original UO, there is no best free shard, everyone has different preferences.

You can't advertise a dead shard.

I didn't say this shard was crap, I merely pointed out the flaws. I'm here because I don't like UoR and options are limited. I just think it's funny when the UOSA crowd thinks their shard is the best thing since sliced bread and all other shards are trash in comparison. I was just throwing a few facts in the mix.

Menk- You are right for the most part, except that IPY did have a lot of the top knotch PvP guilds at release, and the average calibur of player there was light years beyond what I have seen here. Most the pvpers I have seen here simply rely on pvp crutches to be competitive. And even then, they generally fall short ;-)

I didn't start the shard convo though, Pirul did, and I am not arguing about what shard is best, obviously this one is since it is alive and one of the only T2a shards around.

But I will digress for a second time, since we are wayyyyyy off topic ;-P

I will agree with you about the pvp crutches. Theres no way to prove my point, but, you COULD NOT equip your hally/weapon in the middle of casting before the target came up. You could do it after your cursor turned into a target, but not before. Think about this, have you ever seen anyone on OSI cast recall or gheal then hide right after they casted using invis jewelry? No, its because it didnt exist. I just wish I could prove it.

Yeah you couldn't do the equip thing, you also couldn't interrupt with lvl ones, lbolts would interrupt a Gheal (if you were mad fast caster), no magic jewelry/wands, slower cycles, and no sticky bars..

I think it made for more skill in grp fighting, AND 1v1, but ofc that is my opinion.

I agree with you about the invis thing, that didn't exist on OSI to my knowledge, and i played the shit out of T2A.

How about we take the drama elsewhere and focus on the house decor boys and girls.
