I understand why people are getting upset at having their hard-worked for, blessed neon whatever masks/sandals breaking...

But whats the incentive for arguing against it?

Will having blessed items break make this shard so much better? Will you quit playing the "t2a era accurate" shard over something like this? Will UOSA gain additional players if we put a big stamp on the homepage that says "BLESSED ITEMS WILL BREAK!!!". Is it affecting the game play? Why are you not barking up the tree of "Razor is not era accurate... multiple accounts are not era accurate... current tamer commands are not era accurate... silver system is not era accurate...". Clearly - this server isnt, and never will be, era accurate - and alot of the "era accuracies" are just dictated by a few opinions of the well established veterans on the shard (or at least thats the way it seems to me). However, I do not think that is such a bad thing, as the admins do not cater or grant special priveledges to players, like I have heard from other popular shards (UOGamers, UORevelation etc.)

It seems like there are more important things to "rally the era accurate people" for, rather than some foot and head pixels, which outside of getting a boner at the thought of macing "Insert Elite UOSA Vet"s colored mask to dust, doesn't have any game play affect.

- signed by someone who just blessed a pair of black sandals thanks to the holidays, but doesnt give a crap if they break or not.
+1

from my perspective, i don't like seeing neon glowing crap everywhere. its inaccurate and ugly, and therefore gets my vote. only my opinion of course.

additionally, one of the fundamental aspects of this game is that when you die, everything on your body is lootable. if you want the privilege of having an item of clothing that stays with you upon death, it should at the very least be subject to the same conditions as normal clothing. this is especially true now that the shard has been flooded with bless deeds, and they're essentially a dime a dozen.

It would definitely be annoying if clothing broke, no doubt lol. I wonder how fast that would even take, on OSI my blessd black sandals never broke and I wore them 24-7 in fights even again q-staves which were more popular on OSI. I had them the christmas clothing bless deeds came out 1998? And wore them for 2 years or so after that.

I must say that I do remember blessed items breaking as a friend of mine had his blessed black sandals break on him one day.. I remember quite clearly because of how pissed off he was over it.. I'm pretty sure it happened before UO:R.. Not 100% on that though.

There's ignorance, irrationality, stupidity, Down's, ambivalent gender identity, trammel and then there's this thread.

Why care?
(That's a rhetorical question)

This is a perfect reason why blessed items should be able to break, I agree 100%

(I think marmalade meant to say inaccurate instead of accurate though)

Derrick: Trophy/Silver Turn In System

There are absolutely no refunds or later exchanges for items received through this system.

..........

if you want to play 100% era accurate, make a time machine, call Richard Garriott and talk to him.

um no, we don't have to make a time machine, this server changes from time to time to put through changes that make the server more era accurate. That's like saying- ok since the elder gazers use to be in shame to, they should be put back cuz you had them there.... see that's stupid. All items subject to the same property rules /agree

from my perspective, i don't like seeing tournaments, capture the flag, double domination, etc everywhere. its inaccurate and trammel, and therefore gets my vote. only my opinion of course.

additionally, one of the fundamental aspects of this game is that when you die, everything on your body is lootable. if you want the privilege of having all your stuff stay with you upon death, it should at the very least be subject to the same conditions as normal clothing. this is especially true now that the shard has several events every week (awarding silver), and they're essentially a dime a dozen.

Marm - I don't disagree with you on your comments, its just that the logic can be applied to many of the other things that are not complete era accuracy on the shard, some of which seem more important than the touchy subject of potentially eliminating hard earned pixel collecting.

Has Derrick even given an official response for any of this? Ive heard some people tell me "Bless items are breaking 100% confirmed" while others are saying "Derrick has no intentions of changing this". Maybe we should stop conjecturing, and just see what he wants to do. Im sure enough info and arguments have been dug up around the subject for him to make a decision.
