I would love to find information that indicated poison should be more potent, but I'm not able to find that information.

I think the formula and mechanics are accurate to what we've been able to find so far.

I'm just wondering if there is some other related mechanic may impact the feel.

That's really what I was looking for last night, and then I rechecked every formula today. We're still pending checking if regeneration of hit-points is slowed if you are poisoned (maybe at minimum satiety rate) but that's a long shot.
