and as someone suggested earlier, it should have a Start date.
posts made a year ago should not be able to be voted on!
even people with Negative Karma play the game ... give them a Vote for Christ Sake!
Border Patrol wrote:Perhaps make it so each person can only vote another person 1 time up or down and that is it. It would give a better consensus on how the community feels about another player. That way it prevents forum trolls from voting down the same people everyday using multiple old forum accounts *coughs* cA.

Allow people with negative karma to vote people up or down one time like everyone else. Get rid of being able to do +2, +3, +4, or +5. That allows troll squads to wield way to much power everyday as they keep voting each others accounts up and other people's accounts down.

Also before implementing new changes do a wipe of the damage that has been done and reset the karma system. The way it is now actually gives all the trolls the power since they usually have multiple accounts and use these accounts to upboost their own karma while obliterating others. If you get say 4 or 5 trolls with a couple accounts each who are friends the damage and power wielded by them using the karma system is insane especially when they get over 15 karma or so from boosting their own karma *coughs* cA *coughs*.

I will upvote everyone for as long as I have the option! Some want to break the system by making it horribly crappy for others...

I will break the system by making it too damn good!

Based on the feedback that's been received, some changes were made to the system, including lowering the bar at which you are not able to vote, the removal of rated voting, it's now always +/-1 (retroactively), and the ability to see your reputation comments.

How many accounts are we allowed? Halbu is using his 2nd forum account to double negative rep me!

Are you really going to make more accounts yourself to combat this; or is it better just to expose the absurdity as you have?

I bet the average age of people here is 25+ and yet 95% of those people are acting as if they are 12-16 years old. Any mature player will just disregard this new option and not pay it any heed. I say let the children waste their time I will keep focusing on the relevant aspects of the forum and the game.

Who is smart86 and Sissypants? Evidently they hate my guts and I have never seen or heard of them ever. I already knew all the cA guys down voting me hated Justice.

Bravo for the changes Grand Master Derrick, well played sir. I think all the changes not only balanced things out on the karma stuff but lifts the veil as to who the perps are!

Yeah, they have voted me down more than anyone else. Almost daily. BP seemed to have a change of heart though.

+1. Pretty hilarious to see what's going on in there.

While it is still somewhat early to tell, I must say that the results have been relatively predictable, at least for myself. I expect to have a somewhat lower karma than others, primarily because I am responsible for delivering bad news for mechanics that some players may like.

I would like to vote for the removal of this system, even though there is no vote currently underway (yes, I'll be that guy!).

It was a nice little thing to play around with, and I appreciate the fact that Derrick is still putting time and effort into making things cool, and the best that they can be...

BUT (yeah, you saw that coming!).. It is my opinion that it's too open to abuse, and also somewhat of a popularity contest, naturally.

Just my 2c!

*awaits meaningless downvotes for posting my opinion*
