Personally, hell yeah. No sitting in ur tower, no sitting anywhere but town, mwhahah, gonna force ppl to either play when they log in or not log in. Either way is fine with me, means more ppl playin. Oh what about the reds? Well, either u become blue, or u just risk it. Tough Shit.

It's obviously a bug, I don't ever remember getting killed in my tower on LS. It was the one behind the Bridge of the Two Kings west of Destard.
If you are in the middle you should not be able to be killed in a tower, keep, or castle.

I don't believe this exploit is as game breaking as some would suggest. It's just another mere nuisance among a myriad of nuisances we all choose to deal with when logging on to UO:SA. It's still possible to safely own a Tower, Keep, or Castle; you just can't go afk inside it anymore. I put a small macro house after I got whacked by this exploit ~ problem solved.
However, I fully advocate for the removal of this exploit/bug as it clearly is a bug. One of the things I enjoy most about UO:SA over any other shard is that it is very predictable; I am assured my house values will remain steady because there will be no extra housing lands added, my Mares will retain value because new Mare spawns won't be added, my Hally Mage will remain effective because Inscription will never boost magic damage, the time to GM taming worth it because there will be no 120 Powerscrolls added a month after I think I finished the skill (still sour about that after 9 years), etc etc.
However, this bug, which took a Third Party Program and 13 years to discover adds a new mechanic to UO:SA that was not present in era (as nobody abused this exploit) and disturbs the predictability. The shard's motto is "The Way it Was" and not "The Way it Might Have Been Were We All Using Razor During T2A and Had Four Full Years to Discover Every Possible Glitch In the Code Missed By the Original Devs in 1999."

I'm willing to bet that there are still safe spots in a tower/keep/castle.
Has anyone tested every possible angle/depth of this line of sight bug? Probably not. It looks like Kaivan is the one who has done the most so far.
I will be testing this fully when I find the time. If there is something significant to report, then I will report it.
Also, this may be a good time to bring the test center online for a little while. Maybe its not as bad as people think, we just need to learn a little more.
Or maybe I'm wrong and there is no safe spot at all... In which case, lol, matty better get good.

Also, as inconvienent as it may be, it appears as if several other types of houses are still secure. So, if you can't find any safe spot inside your tower/keep/castle, you could always get a house to macro in and save the tower/keep/castle for storage/decorations/events.
For those who think that this is a good thing and will get people to 'play more rather than macro in their tower', I disagree. People will just macro elsewhere or not play. Reminds me of a story:
When I first started playing UO in 1998, I couldn't figure out how to make money. Whenever I left town, I was PKed or killed by monsters. To compound the problem, I did not know of any good way to earn money while in town. Eventually I latched onto the idea that I could build up my begging skill safely in town and get rich along the way. I stayed up all night long manually clicking my begging skill on an NPC and ended up with 60 begging. I never got a single gold coin and instead got in trouble when my parents learned that I had stayed up all night on the computer (clicking on begging and then clicking on NPC ad nauseam for 8 hours). Now, 14 years later, I no longer have the time nor patience to stay up all night clicking away to gain my skills. If it weren't for the relative safety of macroing some skills in a house, I do not belive that I would have gotten my characters to the point where I really enjoy playing this game again.

Contradiction. You solved your own problem in the first couple lines of your post.
The jury is out on the "good vs bad for the shard" aspect. We are just gonna have to wait and see how this plays out.
If this does stay, then I do foresee a rise in newbie complaints. That's about as bad as its gonna get. This may even be balanced out by the fact that it is less desirable to be logged in on a red character... Therefore less people taking useless murder counts on home dwellers.
It aint all bad. Lets roll with it if it turns out to be accurate. (which it looks like it is according to Kaivan's demo testing).

I don't see the point in owning a tower or castle anymore. With a bug like this. Might as well just place some LB's or patios. Sure.. more lockdowns but you can get wtf pwned in the middle of it.

For many this will remove the option of playing a full time stat character (ie. one that takes stat on ressurrection).
Despite the claims small homes, L shapes etc are still secure, it's very possible to kill someone on the center tile that is raising magery. The keep was the only home that could really overcome this as most castle courtyards on the shard are already compromised. TG knows this very well and are having a laugh suggesting that small homes are secure to macro in.
Boat blockades are a solution, but how many people are really going to bother? There's already only a small handful of people on the shard that play stat loss reds as the game was meant to be played for murderer types. Keeping this exploit practically endorses "idle to burn counts across 3 accounts".

seriously, though, are the GMs going to fix this bug? this reminds me of the harm wand bug, only a billion times more lame. this will be a server-breaker if it stays.

Please don't. If I'd realized you were one of those people who are immune to logic, I wouldn't have wasted my time writing it.

If someone found a bug with razor that allowed you to break into homes, it worked on the demo and OSI... that would also be mechanical accuracy.
This not only wasn't intended by the game developers... but noone freakin knew about it until 2012 and it requires client hacking or a third party program to accomplish.
