Those are the same The old brokers castle Went down just 1 day ago, the loot in that one was for sure idoc camper and he/she was the main broker on the server. I Think he/she was saving everyting for a new cub.

If people collaborated the efforts of the time wasted hunting for IDOCs, and organized events, there might be things to do here other than let your houses fall.

There seem to be a lot of houses that drop regularly here...rather telling.

Yeah people have to many houses, so once one quit 5-15 houses fall..

Hehe...which brings us back full circle to certain points I made in my original comment here.

Hoarding the large housing markets and charging 3x to 5x deed prices is no different than hoarding the IDOC market that results from the former situation...truly the snake eating its tail.

Thats why I dont feel bad for Vegas whine about IDOC posting... thats rediculous for him to act like Boss Hog on Dukes of Hazard. He will try to intimidate folks on irc or here to stay out of his way, threats of ruining reputation or threatening to somehow ruin the UOSA experience for life with his economic cosmic powers...

I'm certainly no proponent of Vega's, he just happens to be the only one server-side I see doing IDOCs regularly.

I also haven't been around here long enough to know the history of the shard, or the players so my comments could be way off base. It is just what I see.

The LARGE IDOC market has always been dominated by vet players, then and now.

The difference here is that back then, there was a big company[EA/OSI] capable of expanding the game, adding new housing opportunities and enticing new players to the game in spite of the Veterans dominating it.

That is not going to happen here...but the need to entice new players still exists...I really like this shard but I do question it's long-term existence.

I think I get the reasoning behind the "3 accounts, 1 house per char" rule here...I assume that IN THE BEGINNING it was necessary to promote growth on the server, but that growth has obviously been realized some time ago and now that same rule seems to be having a reverse negative effect now...

It is not era accurate by any means, and simply allows the Vets that have the gold to do so, to dominate the housing market, stifling new player opportunities...JMO

I remember when I was new to this shard and had a rational mindset regards to forum posting.

You have well thought out statements with valid concerns. This shard won't deviate from era accuracy regardless of the irrationality involved. It's a very fun shard though.

What's the point of posting an idoc you find anyways? What's the benefit of running around the map just to post on the forums? I don't get it... If you're going to put the effort in to find idocs you might as well at least loot them or tell your friends...

I don't agree that this situation is healthy for the long term...it wasn't before so why would it be this time?

hell no it's not impossible to live in smalls, the epitomy of the newbie starter home, no? I am proof that it isn't even hard to get out of a small and into a 2 story at deed cost, in less than 3 mos. I've already said this...

What I haven't stated previously [but did post when it happened] is that ONE of the reasons I was able to accomplish this was because some Vet player was generous enough to share the wealth they had accumulated at Brit bank in the form of 2 small deeds I was fortunate enough to pick up...

We earned our first small battling the PKs and the Air Eles in Shame just before this happened so the deeds went to 2 other new players that are still playing regularly now.

This isn't to say newbies should be given everything, hell who am I to tell you how to play your game...I expect no slack cutting here and take my beatings with a smile because that one act of generosity gave me the inspiration to tough it out and see how it all turns out...

This is just a newbies perspective...think I'm gonna go play the game for a while.

That is exactly correct...

in reality it doesn't even require that high a level of intelligence. If you are capable of performing a search query, those with more time and intelligence have already figured out how to accomplish most everything in the timeliest manner and written guides detailing how to do so....hell, that's how I've been surviving so far...I can't remember crap!

But there is a good segment of newer players that don't play at this level, either due to RL schedules or simple game play choices...do they not have a place here?
