this server is missing the pvp system you players deserve, you'll find this at [server name omitted],
you will definetly not be dissapointed with the pvp or the trading system in which our server offers.
and staff actually listen to you we have a strong development team.

Statistical Facts:

Your server at peak has 2.3% of our population at its peak.
Your server at peak has 3.1% of our population at it's average base.
Your server at peak has 5.6% of our population at it's average low.

Clearly you are missing what this server isn't missing, actual players.

Why would anyone play such a horrible shard that is clearly inferior to this one?

Thanks,

Getting a little disgusting all these reject shards trying to feed off Derrick's success. Not going to directly mentioning screwing with their noobly set up servers which I am sure are running default everything, but I am sure it wouldn't be hard.........

Im going to take a stab at this.

I've been on this shard for almost a year and a half now coming and going.

I'd have to say one of the things we can do as a playerbase for the shard, besides the promoting and voting, is be a community. People will pick up on the controls, and the pvp, and the skills, but many people need purpose and if it's someone's first experience with a sandbox game like UO, they might think there's nothing to do simply because they can't grasp the freedom. More player ran events, guilds that are great at interacting with these new players, and good community vibe will set us apart from these other shards and help us to keep the new players and teach them that they can do pretty much whatever they want in this game, and they'll probably be more likely to stick around and get their friends in on the action, in turn increasing that community vibe.

very creative input :P

Creating community takes an effort on everyones part. When you see somone running a player run event, even if you arent particularily interested in the event itself, why not go and spectate, hang out with your fellow uosaers. Participate in the player run events being offered and more people will be willing to run the events. It would become cyclical and it really does work. I have run soo many events where when asking for participants in irc I get 'whats in it for me'. Thats the exact opposite attitude needed to develop community, those are the same people in threads like this wondering where the community feel is....
The community really is what keeps new and old players going.

I think the one thing that stands out as missing, when comparing UOSA to OSI 1999, is the total lack town fighting.

I agree hemp. I love this shard and think it would be even more perfect if it had more people in it. I don't vote everyday but I am going to start to from now on.

I agree JoshuaLee

I love this shard ALsO, But i really dont think voting helps. why else would this shard have 500 , and when i log into the other shards that are ranked higher on the votes like the number one . theres no people, or some gay Ninja With a bright katana helping me figure out how to tie my shoes and give me a bag of 50 each reg, and explain the weird special book, and the ninja moves. lol wtf 3 spell books. anyways i check on them they all SUCK ASS.

UOSA FTW !

Voting matters.

I only joined this server because it was ranked #1 on one of the top100 sites.

Btw. Great server.

Getting the word out in other forms than voting sites helps too...I actually found out about this shard from another dead shards forum, some guy just briefly mentioned where he was playing now and I followed it.

Otherwise I might still be trying to have fun on a server with 50 people at its peak time.

Is there anyway to change the "google" description of our shard, it currently lists 200+ players....this needs to be bumped.

Voting deffinately makes a difference when it comes to exposure. Go open any of the voting links. On the right side of the list of shards are 2 columns of numbers. 'Ins' being the number of votes a shards link has and 'outs' which is an important number. The number of 'outs' represents how many people have followed that link to the shards webpage to read more about it.
If you check any one of those votings sites you will see the top 2 or 3 servers have 10x as many 'outs' as servers farther down the list. Those are all potential new players that arent being directed to UOSA because it is lower on the list.
Voting deffinately matters and you can watch the difference yourself through those sites.

Thanks for the info, I never understood the "ins"/"outs". Anytime I've used one of these sites I've always looked at the top 5-10 and when the site had population as a statistic I would follow that site as I never cared much for 100in 500out with a population of 18.
