According to the poll the majority of players want 3 accounts, having multiple accounts is era accurate, any problems caused by people multi-clienting should be addressed separately. Stop fighting it guys.

Duke you are again wrong in your assumption. It was never 3 accounts per house hold, it was always 3 accounts per person becuase people like to multi box.

Duke Jones wrote:I believe it's 3 accounts per HOUSEHOLD.

I think this is a classic example of the slippery-slope when it comes to abusing privileges:
-3 accounts per household
-turned into 3 accounts for a person in the household
-then turned into 3 accounts per player.
-THEN turned into 4 accounts for shared players.

Oh so because my brother (roommate) chooses to play UO I should be limited to 1 or 2 accounts since he's going to have 1 also?

Just because you choose to play without Razor macroing etc, doesn't mean you can force your views upon the rest of us. That's how wars get started.

Computers from 10 years ago couldn't run 2 clients and be fast enough to enjoy playing. One would have to get 2 or 3 different accounts with 2 or 3 dialup connections.

Limiting to 2 at the same time but still have 3 accounts is fine.

Spending time on getting rid of the kill counts is exactly what OSI wanted. This IS era accurate.
They wanted players with counts to "spend" time in game for nothing. Pay for their sins. Back in the days, you would disconnect if left idle for too long and macroing wasn't allowed so you actually had to be close to the computer.

Ok, maybe I'm wrong about the accounts per house/ip/player. I think we need a quote from derrick or some clarification.

Regardless, there's no reason one player should have 4 clients running on the same computer. That's definitely not legit.

How is it not legit?

My computer and connection can handle it so why shouldn't I?

This whole "murderers should pay for their sins" is just crap. Why should I not be able to play UO for 2 weeks because I have to PK in order to find PvP?

If we had a decent amount of pvp'ers here you would see 80% less reds.

The reds are the ones BEGGING for more pvp action.

Those of you who log in simply to craft items and run vendors are seemingly the only ones with complaints.

Time to buy another computer that can handle three accounts or learn to use razor in my opinion.

Because that's how OSI wanted it. If they didn't want that, why would they implement the statloss/murdercount thing? It was implemented in order to slow down pks. You had to spend time as a ghost doing nothing until your short term murder count dropped down.

Nobody forces you to PK in order to have PVP. Just join an order/chaos guild.

I'm sure people would join order/chaos guilds if they didn't have 3 accounts to play to spend their murder counts and avoid statloss.

It's called statloss. It's the punishment you receive for murdering innocents and then you yourself dieing. It is supposed to suck. That's why.

I bet you people would play more then argue about how other people play if they had 15 characters to roll with.

The way I understood it when I joined was that you could have 4 accounts per house hold but only 3 were allowed to be connected at the same time.

I think the 4th account for many is for the test server.

jcalvert... if 3 accounts are yours, and 3 are your brother's, and YOU have 4 running at once... YOU have 4 accounts. In my opinion, and I'm not an admin, I'm just a reasonable person... but in my opinion, if you log into an account, it is YOURS. Even if you only play it for 1 hour a week, or 1 minute per week, compared to your brother who plays it 20 hours a week... if you log into it, it's yours too.

If that's the case you better go ahead and ban 50% of the shard for logging into someone elses account.

And to the moron above mentioning joining an O/C guild if we want PvP -- you must not be a PvP'er here.
