I would assume nothing would happen.

well the 'real' argument is that they arent actually an 'accuracy' debate. They are a administrative policy decision. Ie - staff can run any custom event they want as did staff on OSI during the era.
They just have better code to run better events easier than they did a decade ago.
But you have not read any of the previous 30 threads on th subject

You should read them then come back to this thread.

I probably should, but I don't feel like doing that much reading.
I'd rather see what viable arguments/discussions can come up via my debating. I have yet to see anything concrete that convinces me they are era-accurate and need to continue to exist.
..Not a single event I was ever aware of had a custom landscape with custom rulesets.
Events weren't ever cordoned off or made unenjoyable to people who may have had more mischevious goals in mind.
For someone like myself who plays the game more or less to log in, kill some peeps, take their loots, put their loots in my keep, and log out... Not a single one of those aspects of the game is available in these events, whereas in OSI T2A, events were always housed either in towns, (Where killing enemies and looting was NOT once EVER disabled) Or in dungeons; again, where other more devious players were able to find some form of satisfaction from them.
Taking events and creating custom maps with no-looting rights for events goes against what most true PKs enjoy.
I like pixels, I like collecting pixels off of players, this was ALWAYS part of UO in T2A; at every point of the game.
Not once was I ever NOT able to kill and loot someone after I killed them. Those "mechanics" did not exist in player vs player during this era.
I don't want to make it seem like I'm going off on this tangeant because it affects MY experience. It's EVERYONE's experience who comes here expecting T2A UO in it's most accurate form; and gets dissapointed with the customization, and the fact that many players are obtaining their "funfactor" or gratification via these events, rather than enjoying Ultima Online FIRST, and THEN getting some small gratification from one-off events here and there.

If these current events are to go, they must be replaced with something as equally fun and rewarding. Otherwise, the shard will take to hard of a hit and perhaps not be able to recover so well.
A push for something more accurate should be considered by all, however you must keep in mind how much work that would be for the staff.
I bet there isn't a soul on these forums that wouldn't like to see these events reformed in Felucia with a more accurate style to them. If not for accuracy then for a simple change... they are pretty old, and well... same.... except for those annoying FS's in the CTF game.

I think the ONLY time that events are even slightly justified taking place is during off-core hours...
3AM EST - 3PM EST.
After that, the game should be played in the GAME.
Maybe weekly ranked tournaments and a weekly guild vs guild and/or PUG vs PUG CTFs...
Core playing hours should be filled with open PvP, PvE, PKing and player run/GM run events that take place in the REAL world.
Make events a filler for when the playerbase is at its lowest.

That's entirely your opinion on the subject.

Not that it really matters, but I am taking a break from uosa, and the main reason for this, is that during all of the times that I am able to actually play, there are events running and virtually nobody in the game. As a player that doesn't like to hunt, pvp, craft, etc... my enjoyment is almost entirely based on interacting with players around me. I would get home in the evenings during event time and that basically meant no players from an hour before to an hour after the event. Often times another event would follow. The only real time I have to play for any longer duration is Fridays, where events run non-stop. It got to the point where I just quit logging in until there was a player-ran event or staff-ran dungeon raid/monster spawn going on.
Before you say it, no that is not considered "rage quitting" etc... and I do not need to "learn to adapt my playstyle", the game simply became less enjoyable for me because of those reasons.

Well of course when you only play the game to steal & grief other players this will happen a lot.
Not that this means you shouldn't be able to play the game this way, but if that's the only reason you play then you're going to find little enjoyment in it when everyone learns how to protect themselves from it.

That's why they've been here for 3 years and have stayed exactly the same, right?

Its like when they instituted Power Hour on OSI/EA shards... people stopped playing the game to hop on the hamster wheel. Honestly, I think events are the worst thing on this shard and should disappear completely. (CTF,DD, 1v1, Etc...) Events are slowly transforming this playerbase into that same playstyle as Power Hour encouraged. Just logging on for the quick gain and not actually playing the game and interacting in the world anymore. This is HORRIBLE for the shard and I would love to see all these events disappear completely.
If people want to have these events still, make them monthly events and increase the 'prizes' for placing.
But yeah, as it is, people are just scheduling their playtime around events, playing for a bit before and after, then logging off and contributing next to nothing to the shard aside from collecting silver and uber items.
This is exactly the current state of things and what needs to happen. Although i don't think they should be any reward for risk free fun at all, maybe if it cost like like say Gold to sign up or something >_> but even then i don't like the idea . even if we lose all the auto event only people id rather that to happen then the current state of things in felluca because of events continue. More player or staff run events, more people playing uo and no more risk free pvp.
