A tank mage, essentially, needs reagents and a halberd and little else to be highly effective and badly played mages will generally dominate badly played warriors. A warrior needs potions, bandages, armor, a good weapon, and (in some cases) at least a dollop of magery themselves to be highly effective.

At the high end, it balances out. But at the low end, it is mage dominated, which leads to the perception that tank mages are overpowered. This isn't really a good or a bad thing, it just is.
so what's a badly equipped dexer? a sword and a stack of bandages? that would lose 1v1 against an ogre. a dexer needs at least a set of armor and some potions to be the slightest bit effective in any era of uo.

anyone that plays a character template with no way of instantly healing and then underequips it, deserves to die for not having foresight.

A regular GM weapon, bandages, and armor would be my definition of a dexer who doesn't know what he's doing and is underequipped. That can fight pretty much any low-to-middle tier monster but will get destroyed by a mage who can paralyze and use a basic combo.

And like I said, it's not a bad thing that dexers at low player-skill levels are crushed. I'm just giving it as a reason people who don't know better say they suck all the time.
