Player statues in the museum
Re: Player statues in the museum
What about including some of the more infamous characters from UOSA's past?
Let's face it, although most of the infamous people ended up banned and ridiculed, they certainly left there mark on UOSA history. And in many cases made it very interesting.
Short List of Infamy:
Telamon (Volumes could be written about this guy, most controversial character of all time)
Cavewight (Maybe the biggest Tool ever, his luv of pixels reads like a Greek tragedy)
Beating U (Epic Ass)
Sandro (banned many times, best pvp ever, even though he was known cheat in other areas)
TTStoner (don't think he was banned, he made ACE what it was)
Luca Blight (Epic Douchebag who became an excellent interior designer) *Gay*
Son (Annoying prick in game and in IRC, but luv'em or hate'em, left a large mark here.)
Feel Free to add suggestions.

As someone who has been here a shit long time on and off sailing the oceans, I can only think of one person who I'd nominate......
M A L I C E
GM of one of the longest running, active PvP + guild on the shard. It would be basically like nominating TG for a statue.

Here's a little secret. THe people in there now weren't just popular people, who were loved. They were big personalities that made a real mark in UOSA history. When I ask you to nominate people, your goto is usually someone you just liked or someone that pvps a lot and is good at it. Where is the personality there? Why don't we just nominate the refrigerator because it cools our food.kill drizitz wrote:Can we take people away? Hemp and Chum in there... Both not really deserving.
The real nominations should be someone who shows a shining example of our era. We need symbols with substance. Someone to make people strive to achieve their legendary status.

GK, you juts said someone that pvps a lot and is good at it, but tell me how didnt Fede or Sandro leave a huge mark on this shard?
So your saying that the statues should only be of people who are f***ing care bears and make explosion boxes and make stories on the forums? Come on dude.
What shows a better example of our era then pks/pvp, I mean heck that's all uo was in 1997/98/99.
Truth is, chum deserves a spot, theres no doubt, but how the f***is Hemperor (no offense Hemp) in there, when, if you ask people who have played the past two years who Hemperor is and they will say "Uhhh, a leader of a group of people?" Yet, if you ask those same people who Fede or Sandro is, they will probably answer "best pvpers" or "f***ing hate them, they killed me X amount of times."
Yet, you think that doesnt have a big impact on the shard? See thats the problem I have with this shit, its like, you guys ignore how much PvP impacts the shard, this shard has gone more towards trammel it seems every year. And, GK, no offense, just cause you like to bank sit on purple horses and talk with your buddies about how big your rares dick is and how awesome your collection is, doesnt mean its impacted anyone in any way. To be completely honest, name 1 super rich care bear rare collector that has "impacted the shard." Cave? lol, why because he had a big idoc? Before Cave got banned, no one could even tell you 1 thing about him. Telamon was known for 2 things, a crazy macro that made him rich, and an idoc... again, not very memorable.
Yet guys like Fede, Sandro, f***even Malice, are guys that have impacted this shard, and not doing it by forum pvping or telling stupid f***ing stories in crossroads (not saying chums stories are stupid just a general statement), these are guys who have killed almost everyone on here at least once. Shit, look at Malice even, a guy I despise in game, but that dude has annoyed everyone on this server with that little pecker head Panpipe. And the only creature on this game faster then a Terathan Avenger is Malice, anyone who has crossed paths with him would tell you that. But you dont think these "pvpers" deserve a spot? Why? Cause they dont have big rares collections? Because they dont sit at the f***ing bank and tell stories all day about how great this shard is? Because they actually leave guardzone and try to make something F***N happen on this dying server?
Im sorry Gk, I like you a lot and I have a ton of respect for you, but you are so wrong on this, its not even funny.
But, whatever, give another statue to a guy like Roadkill, or hey f**k it, lets give it to Cave because no one could suck a giant rare c**k better than he could right? F*** that, the 3 guys I named DESERVE a statue.

Re: Player statues in the museum
Going off of what my homie Menk went off on. Why do you think this shard is going downhill and losing more players every week? There is hardly ANY PvP left here. Now if you like fighting the same 10 people every day great UOSA is for YOU! Day in and day out you can hit up the gy or go crawl the dungeons but you are itching to find people to fight and it's not easy. Truth is that is why me and MANY others have left and tried other spots and then NEVER looked back once you see greener pastures. It is only a matter of time here while others grow this place fades.

Gms would never allow it but hazy deserve a statue. Who has caused more hate/drama/anger/controversy/rage then hazy?

Re: Player statues in the museum
I read through your post. You put a lot of feeling into what you were saying. I did not mean to offend. Let's be clear here. There isn't a statue in the works. I haven't set anything up. I thought this would be a good discussion.
Did these players inspire you? Did stories of their antics reach people outside of their own clicks? Let me give what I think a good example is:
Lelouche has a fairly hated reputation on the server as a pk. A PK you say? He was also one of the grumpiest people you have met. What did he do to step it up and move into the big time?
He lured dozens of Tmap balrons to the very top of his keep, trapped them in just the right spot, and set a peacemaker to constantly target them; keeping them there even after server restart. He then set up a big chain of gate spots in various places throughout the game. He would open the gates and people would gate hop, not even thinking.
He kept a photo record of every kill and then posted it on the forums like a gianst wall poster. Newbies and vets alike, falling for the oldest trick in teh book, but with an extreme wtf factor in the end.
__________________________________________
My only real interactions with fede were basically him ganking me with his buddy, calling me a F#& for sheering sheep, and then getting banned for account sharing. Now, I have another example:
Luca|Blight : This guy made it a point to stalk felix in game just for the sake of murdering him. He spent days camping his house, he was one of the first people to really use the carpet bomb (along with his guild), and his stalking was so ingrained into his character, that he stalked and murdered people before making them his friends/guildmates.
He once spent a month stalking Pancakes -UoH- and murdering her non stop. He waited for her at her tower every chance he got. He hid and watched her recall spots each time, and then set up blocker traps every time.
He opened up the museum of felix tears. In it were the severed heads of felix, mixed with waterfall decoration that really highlighted how far his (different levels of gameplay) had taken him. He was a demented, psychopath, who trapped women and forced them to like him, like a kidnappee with stockholm syndrome.

In the end, it isn't about the pictures or the forum posts/irc. It's about getting yourself out there to the point that you actually do have a story.
Cavewight was known because he was the guy you could sell ANY rare to for a fair price.
Telamon was well known because he had all of the stuff that cavewight ended up owning.
Blackfoot was well known because of the museum, event coordination, working with staff, AND was a well known pvper.
A legend needs a story. You can't be a legend if a small amount of people even talk about you or have read about you.

Re: Player statues in the museum
Gk, all the stories you just told were fantastic and all those players had their own legends, but see the difference is, those are just epic stories.
A story is great. But to have a statue I feel a player needs more than just a story. I feel the player has to become the legend. Maybe Sandro and fede didn't have epic stories of stalking people or gate hopping people, but, even long after they both have stopped playing, they are still talked about on a daily basis. Luca, lelouche, etc are names that I rarely rarely hear anymore. So, with that being said, you tell me who impacted the server more? A guy who stalked Felix and pancakes with a fantastic story, that in guessing 95% of the people here don't even know about... Or, 2 guys that have had their skill in pvp become so legend that someone that has played the game for 2 weeks probably heard both their names half a dozen times in that span. Even today people compare how good they are to fede. I think in trash talk just a few weeks ago mal and a few others were trying to figure out where they were at on the dueling scale by saying what their winning percentage was against fede. Need I say more? Hehe.
To me, a statue shouldn't honor a story, or even a player that had a unique way of playing. It should honor guys that left their mark on the server.
So far, if memory serves me correct, that museum has a statue of the best story teller/thief(chum), the most popular care bear and helper(road kill), hemperor(tbh I don't know why hemps so well known but truth is he is obviously popular because even my brother who doesn't play remembers him), and others. But it doesn't have 2 guys that put the fear of God in you when you had to duel them in a tourney or saw them out in the field. And I think truly they both had a huge impact on the server. Especially fede. Here's a guy who made videos, held events, was the best dueler and fielder, and was actually a helpful player too. He tried to teach people how to fight etc; I can see how Sandro doesn't deserve a statue, he hasn't played in years. But Fede? He'd still be playing now if he didnt get banned for a petty crime. He promoted server health, plain and simple. If the server was a much better place when said person played, then they deserve a statue IMO. I just think that some people hold onto stories and don't look at the big picture. Felix I could see having a statue. He scammed everyone and their mother (including me after gaining my trust. F u Felix
) and he was also one of the best solo pks of all time. Matron? Absolutely should be on there. But I still think fede would be more deserving, and here's why: lets just say we asked 5diff players who those 3 are. Now the catch is, we ask 1 player who started here in 08 1 who started in 09, 10, 11, 12, 13. So we would ask a panel of 5 players who started every year. I guarantee you, the guys who started in 08/09/10 heard of fede, and so did the guys who started in 11/12/13. If that's not an impact, I don't know what is. And the banned thing should have nothig to do with it since nevermoure is in there.
Its just my opinion, but I feel strongly about it because it just seems like guys who were epic pvpers don't get credit for impacting the shard, when its the complete opposite.
Btw, I remember coffee slightly? Wtf did he/she do that was so great that they got a statue?
