I saw 'accidental deaths' and if the mission is to reduce those, then why stop at firearms (browser was having issues loading the supporting pages). Let's tackle the biggie - automobiles. Operating a vehicle is not a constitutionally protected activity like keeping/bearing arms. Majority of folks should not be permitted to operate a vehicle given their complete lack of regard for others. Numbers don't lie... the biggest threat to a child's life (or any life regardless of age outside of disease/natural causes) is not firearms. But I hear the contrarians, "but but but, we do not see people driving vehicles into schools with the intent of targeting children"... but but but, I don't see these goons going through the existing legal process to obtain firearms anyway - many aren't even legally old enough to purchase a firearm but for some reason the mindless think more thorough background checks, registrations, etc will curb these events which implies these actors went through these processes prior to committing their offenses. Rubbish...
