Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
the only problem i have with pvp at the moment is that the damage is too random. makes for luck being a deciding factor rather than player skill too much of the time.

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
I don't see any problem with horse fatigue besides the fact that mounts can be mounted while they are in combat. If this were to be fixed the "all follow me" bug that was implemented giving them virtually endless amounts of stamina would be much less effective.Geryon wrote: So horse fatigue will not be addressed? That's unfortunate if so.
People with unlimited horse stamina is one of the most annoying things about this servers pvp.
Both attack last and tabbing will be used significantly less when the swing timer is finally corrected.Kylock wrote: People spamming attacklast is ridiculous.
I don't remember that happening at all.
You just might rethink that position when the fix mentioned in the quote directly above takes effect.marmalade wrote:the only problem i have with pvp at the moment is that the damage is too random. makes for luck being a deciding factor rather than player skill too much of the time.

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
I dunno about that. My mount would literally get fatigued on OSI from running brit bank -> brit GY at a sprint. This was in late T2A and UO:R (this was when Oceania was released in Jan 2000 and I was pinging 100>). My mount has never once become fatigued on UOSA, obviously something is wrong. Also, I don't believe mount fatigue should have anything to do with your current weight or character's dexterity (I've heard it does here).Faust wrote:I don't see any problem with horse fatigue besides the fact that mounts can be mounted while they are in combat. Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
We are using the same code that OSI used for mount fatigue.
This code for mount fatigue takes a character's weight characteristic into consideration during the calculation process. The only documented change surrounding mounts involving stamina/fatigue was the patch that fixed the "all follow me" stamina refresh bug that boosted the stamina for all ridable mounts.
I am absolutely confident that mount fatigue/stamina is precise for the specific era that is being replicated here.

No, the pvp is not enjoyable. Most 1v1s end up in someone recalling for regs. That being said, this is by far the best free shard I ever played on. And other then the pvp the feel of T2A OSI is spot on. I know Derrick and staff put a lot of work into the shard and I appreciate it. I am hopeful the new changes to pvp will make it feel like it did in 98-99 when I was having so much fun.
Faust learn to read, the original poster was asking for people's opinion's whether it's fun or not, and specifically said he didn't want to talk about era accuracy. So what do you do? Make multiple posts about accuracy, a bigger idiot I do not know. Son.

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
Well mount fatigue was one of the biggest issues I noticed when I finally got a connection capable of running full speed on a horse, and it's an absolute non issue here. I can't imagine I was stocked running around with 350 stones. Apples were an absolute must (I never used or heard about the all follow me trick, another thing that may have been patched out, unless it is still usable on OSI today).Faust wrote:We are using the same code that OSI used for mount fatigue.

There was either an undocumented change at some stage or the shitty horse stamina was shard-specific to Oceania.

Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
I remember people saying that getting off and giving a command replenished the stamina, I also remember reading about it on AskChopper or UOprostitute, whatever the site was at the time, but I never once had it work for me in game. That's not to say it doesnt exist, but I imagine it was a really small window until it was repaired perhaps.
Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
I voted NO because weapons dont reload while running and it is super lame. Lets all stand around off our mounts and fight 1v1 honor duel rules.
Re: Do you enjoy the pvp mechanics of uosecondage?
my horse ran outta of stamina 24/7 on osi, towny fighting

<IronfistMax> tell me where you are in game, and ill come thank you personally

There's 4 reasons why pvp is different now than 1998-1999:Kylock wrote:No.
Wild damage range on hally hits. Seems from 1dmg -> 40ish dmg.
People spamming attacklast is ridiculous.
I don't remember that happening at all.
1. Cable
2. Razor hotkeys(attack last, equips ect.)
3. People have been playing so long, gotten good at mechanics and are pvp gods now compared to 1998.
4. GM resist, everyone has it. That's why you typically can't kill someone in ONE combo like you could in 1998 when people have 70-90 magery and 60-70 resist. Or whatever, it was just low so spells were more important. Sometimes you can, but lots of times people resist spells.
That's why I believe using magic weapons are a must to take control over fights(especially when outnumbered). Can't tell you how many times I toast people in nice little combos cause I pull it off and time the hally right on their gheal and hear a UGHHHH in a 2v1/3v1 you name it. GM hallies are okay, but GM resist is too good so you're stuck spamming harm till you try another hally whack. Which wasn't necessary in 1998-1999 where most people had low magery/resist.
Divinity sucked for that reason, duels were even more about hally spamming. And not to mention no delays, the mechanics are so watered down.I voted NO because weapons dont reload while running and it is super lame. Lets all stand around off our mounts and fight 1v1 honor duel rules.
At least on UOSA you can attack last and steal hally hits. It's a good mechanic. Without it you wouldn't be able to nullify someone who just spams hally hits not letting you meditate.
Most of my field fights end in victory or death. Maybe you guys need more practice, are too newbie or at at the level where you know how to pvp but haven't quite mastered it. I dunno, field fighting is where it's at on UOSA. 1v1 tournaments are fun but sudden death is too cheesy. I'd rather have a 40 minute fight than sudden death! The only time I don't see fights end is tournaments, on the field someone either dies or runs. Thanks to agility potions, refreshes and magic weapons. They make the game feel fun and like I said it helps level out GM reisist...which is common! No, the pvp is not enjoyable. Most 1v1s end up in someone recalling for regs.

Where in this thread am I discussing era accuracy with the original poster? If you were the one to actually read the thread you would realize that I am discussing the problems that Pro had with the pvp mechanics including statistical data that is quite the opposite. Era accuracy was't brought up until others brought it up son.Dr. Octagonecologyst wrote: Faust learn to read, the original poster was asking for people's opinion's whether it's fun or not, and specifically said he didn't want to talk about era accuracy. Nice epic fail just like your last post son.
There is no movement penalty in the original swing timer.Vlastslav wrote:I voted NO because weapons dont reload while running and it is super lame.
The original swing timer will elapse while on the move in other words when it's fixed.
This bug was found in the original OSI code by Batlin. A mount's stamina is replenished when hopping on the mount that is in "follow mode". The fix to this exploit was posted above in my last post.MatronDeWinter wrote:I remember people saying that getting off and giving a command replenished the stamina, I also remember reading about it on AskChopper or UOprostitute, whatever the site was at the time, but I never once had it work for me in game. The bug was present in late '98 and wasn't fixed until early '00. I don't know if you consider that a small window or not. I don't consider it a small window in my honest opinion

First of all Orphik 95% time you are ganking with a bunch of nut hugging townies with krysses. So you talking about field 1v1 is a joke. I can say any fight that goes over 10 minutes shows how boring and horrible the pvp is here. I had 2 guys at 10% today unloaded my precasted ebolt and both survived that is a joke.Psilo wrote:
