Its people being anti social ****s that forced OSI's hand. If your business was losing custom due to people's behaviour, what would you do? Look at the subscription numbers, Trammel saved UO you idiot, but it also changed it, for the worst in most of our opinions obviously.

Trammel was invented to attempt to maintain growth, which had plateaued, sitting at around 100,000 for months, by attempting to attract a different demographic, the only way to do that was provide what they thought people wanted, what many people left for EQ for, and that, for good or for worse, was happy flower land.

How did OSI fail? Because it changed what most of us liked, and subsequently doubled its user base? Funny definition of failure you have Josh, no wonder you think losing = winning. I hate what they did too, but it did work for nearly 3 years.

Dexter = Josh?

Yea, then I'm done arguing with the resident forum troll. And Josh? It's people like YOU that created Trammel. Psychopathic freaks that made the game about lame arguing and griefing, and not about adventure and fun.

yes, ban evasion should result in perm banned for every ip he's ever used and the entire submask he's in.

Ship to ship launching would easily solve this problem. Otherwise I see nothing wrong with GM's taking action, in the *spirit* of the game. Take a guess at wheter OSI would have done the same thing during SecondAge era, and make a judgement call.

The offending player should not be punished, however, since he broke no rules.

About the Trammel discussion... yeah trammel gained players for OSI, but that's cuz many ppl stuck around. At least for a while...

I remember getting level 5 fame in t2a and having the explain to my guildmates that I hadn't created a new character, just my title had changed. It *meant* something.

I played a few years ago, this trammel crap, people hanging around brit bank with their glacial staves and other goodies. When everyone shines, nobody is impressed. YOU SHOULD HAVE TO EARN IT.

Razor has had a similiar effect on this shard. Well, in fairness, we also have a smarter than-the-average-Joe playerbase.

Gamemastering is about balance and moderation. Players don't really know what they want, always just greedy for more, like children. Which is fine, cuz it's a GAME.

I go through the same thing in my work. People who aren't in my position have a lot of conflicting ideas, most of which won't actually benefit them in practical reality. I listen to them with a grain of salt, and try to find POSITIVE and CREATIVE solutions that work.

UO *could* have moved forward in that kind of direction, but everyone got frothed into a frenzy.

God I remember rolling my eyes (along with a LOT of other people) as they were going on about 3-D and Trammel...

This shard doesn't have much room to develop, cuz our anchor is era accuracy. But that's MUCH better than the alternatives.

UO *could* be re-made in all it's original 2-D glory with the right men at the helm.

Til then, UOSA is the best thing going!!!

OMG. 6 pages of dilution of the "issue" with trash talk.

There's two potential rule violations here as I see it:

1) unattended resource gathering macroing.
2) preventing other players from accessing a public part of the world.

It is up to the staff to review this situation and apply an era accurate solution.

The rest of these 6 pages is a waste of time.
