I'd quit if there was a server side filter. UO = freedom to do and say whatever you want (within game mechanics ). If you whiny little ninnies don't like it then there's plenty of happy family shards out there catering for your type - they'd be more than obliging. As people have said already.. it's your bitchy type that created this disgusting "PC" obsession in modern society. While people deserve respect and equality, you can fuck right off if you're going to start calling christmas 'holidays' and that sort of bullshit (no - I'm not religious, not even slightly).

Big mistake if you ever implement a server side filter Derrick. That is not UO. If anything put up instructions for the minority of little girls on the server showing them how to use the in-game client side filter.

Actually the spirit of UO is the implementation of restrictions due to player abuse and said abuse sending new players away.

It falls into the same category as GMs and staff ignoring the player base at some point unless it's an emergency and potentially suspending or jailing people for bothering Gms for unnecessary reasons.

UO has never been about free "speech" anyway. People have been reported and full on banned from UO for offensive behavior.

I once said "I wonder which airlines are better, the USA or the JAP ones....." Someone took it as me using world war racism and i got jailed and had to explain myself. Then again i had alot of pks on siege that jumped at every chance to get rid of me.

The complaint in previous threads was that there were too many possible words for people to have to type in. For the record this was partially tounge-in-cheek.

However, any possiblity of a server side filter would be opt-in. Sorry to cause unnessisary rucus.

1) Racist language is inherently offensive
2) Racist language should not be tolerated
3) Easy for T2A to warn players that using racist language will result in a ban
4) Easy to implement a ban (just read the logs)
5) If this is done, most racist language on this shard will stop
6) This will be a net benefit to T2A and its players

Well the racism bothers me more than the sexism. Sexism mostly just affects the women ..... so who cares?

It's not surprising a game that caters to shut-ins would draw the easily offended types.

Free shards always have a higher incidence of retard than pay for play, because most free shards understandably have no customer service. The best you can do is just ignore them, they're lives are probably pretty meaningless anyway and getting to call someone a negor on the internet makes their day better
