How many hours from 87.4 shown do you think it will take me to get to 95.1 taming?
If anyone has any helpful hints or info on this please let me know =-D

Last time around I got to 95 fairly fast, I used a stealth herder for much of it. Just herd what you want to tame away from other spawn then attack it and run to lure it to the secure taming area.

Never afk taming... you are going to be in areas where people will constantly be running around.

Once I could tame toads I just tamed toads to 95...then tamed dragons and drakes thereafter,
Hellhounds was a pain. Besides herding them and lava lizards in fire, I said screw it.

Update to where I'm at;


Day 1

Around 1 1/2 Hours to get to stat cap (Camping, Herding Yada Yada...)
100 Str
25 Dex
100 Int

2 Hours at Compassion Shine - Unfortunetly there was 2 other tamers there slowed my gains down
Taming Skill 60

Total Time 3 1/2 Hours
Left Macroing Animal Lore overnight

Day 2

Woke up to Animal Lore at 90
Switched to Macroing Magery / Medi / Resist for 2 Hours

Back to Compassion to get to 77.1
3 Hours+

Macroed Animal Lore overnight

Day 3

Woke up to GM Animal Lore

Straight to Hoppers Bog

Lured around 9 Toads / Mongbats / Alligators etc
I normally left him there for 1 hour and checked back to see what had died, gonna try and leave him at this most of the day

Current Taming Skill 80

Taming seems to be raising steadily at Hoppers Bog will see how it goes..

Day 4

The spawn at hoppers bog has been terrible today, only me here and another guy thats afk on another ledge I can only find 2 Toads spawing in the whole of the bog (yesterday there where more than 9+ spawning...) current skill is 85 been taming 2 hours.

Day 5

Had a break from taming today left him macroing Tracking and Magery

Day 6

Stopped luring Toads to the tamer and used my tamer to find the toads & kill them after been successfully tamed the tracking skill is a godsend to find the toads been taming around 2 hours currently at 87 skill will see how long i can do this for before I get mind numbingly boring..

He's just a random griefer noob that was trying to halt my macro for kicks. Don't think he plays much anymore.

All these spots are relatively quiet, hyth being the worst of the three.

You must defend from griefers if you wish to macro taming.

I'm afraid the Compassion shrine nowadays is being crawled by those griefer noobs. They're very unfriendly as well. =(

I tried it yesterday. Was all good until someone set up a macro to provoke everything I was pulling to the shrine to tame heh.

I don't know how the situation is nowadays, but I'll definitely won't try this afk.
I'm more into wandering about taming stuff, like I did in the old days!
I read of white wolves, of which I remembered. Bulls also.
I'll setup a macro to save clicks... and see how it goes.

What are minimum skills to tame useful creatures?
I remember 93.9 for dragons and 95.1 for white wyrms (and nightmares maybe).
What about drakes? I can't remember.... 85ish?

I think that once I tame something decent I could make some money farming monsters. This to get me money to train magery!
