With AR absorption being calculated correctly maximizing protection, the armor clad warrior has become empowered. If this tournament does not encourage you to make one on top of the changes. Something must be wrong with you.

My only comments are:

Seriously consider allowing poisoned weapons.
*It balances out the stamina robbing effect of macing by giving fencing and swords back their advantage.

A person should be able to turn down only 3 challenges.
*I had serious trouble finding matches in the last tourny.

If stealing by item/target type was fixed, I would advocate to allow stealing too however it is just too overpowered on UOSA and there is no real fix in sight.

Count me in with about 2 characters... maybe 3!

one character per entrant,
you will not chose your oppoenents
they will be organized matches 1 per combatant per week

i could allow poisoning if the character had poisoning skill but limit the amount of pots maybe
or have stam pots allowed
i dont see how a pure warrior would be able to survive against a poisoner without cure pots

Well, considering pots are something a warrior carries, I would say allow ALL pots.

Cures, refreshes, heals, poisons, whatever. I don't understand why these were even thought to be not allowed. A warrior has his weapon, armor, bandages, and potions. That's the essence of a warrior. A warrior that goes out in the field without any one of those things is not very smart.

OH wow, I didn't see the no potion requirement. That would be unwise. I think you should seriously reconsider.

Potions are required for dexers without magery. It was the only way to overcome the 15/18 second bandage timer.

For a T2A Warrior Tourney, potions are simply required. Restricting them would require magery and, well, that's wouldn’t exactly be a warriors tourney would it?

If you have magery, great! Use it. If you don't want to use potions, go ahead and show up without them. But don't restrict those who use them from doing so. Potions are only restricted from the Tank Mage duels, except for red potions of course, because it takes away from the spell/counter spell activities and the use of mana.

You can't interrupt a greater heal potion can you? Can't tell when someone is double clicking one or some words of power don't broadcast out telegraphing what the other guy is doing. (The other reason is that it keeps those pesky shield fighters out of l33t kewl duels).

About poisoning, T2A was the age of the mule. Poisioners were alchemists that never left the house. The notion of having poisoning on a fighting character was completely foreign until UO:R.

Simply put, during T2A, warriors seldom had magery much less a mule skill like poisoning. Those hybrids didn’t come out until moonstones were put to use.

In fact, that was one of the reasons why town fighting and becoming a dex monkey was popular. You dind't have to go to a reg shop to develop any of your skills... IE Magery or Resist.

You simply stocked up with bandages (cut one at a time), potions, trapped pouches, armor, shield, weapon sets (primary, secondary, heavy, DPd, Magic) and you were off to fight till you either died or ran out of stock.

Notice how that list costs a lot more than 30 of each reg, a death robe, and a hally? Playing a warrior costs GP but the benefit was having to spend less time casting some silly spell over and over again.

These rules proposed basically work against a tank mage but even more so against a real warrior.

Ok altered rules
how does that look
since everyone through irc and forusm here are basically all saying the same thing
'remove restrictions'
Tell me what you think
say we cap magic weps/armour at force/hardening
would make for more interesting tourny

I'm fine with no magics. Granted, force/hardening items are a dime a dozen...

I would just think that the outcomes would be determined by player's skill and not their weapon/armor.
