If you timed it right and set a macro to click explosion pots and hit escape each time the target appears would the pot timer still run?

Just set a hotkey for "clear target que" to be able to cast a spell while the timer is running.

I thought it would be skillful to stealth up on someone and either start detonating them quick in a box or on person in the midst of a gank.

I never said anything about throwing anything, just setting a whole lotta timers as fast as possible.

I have a macro that allows you to perfectly toss ge pots while casting spells, and doesn't bring up the cursor. PM if you want the macro.
