I think it is unfair for players to Lock up the Prime Locations so that others may not get to it!

2 Questions...
1. How does this conform with era accuracy?
I've stated before that I played before T2A. There was no enforcement by GMs on boats parked, but there was an exploit and overall harrassment by other players that gave it some risk (Much like there is now. I've lost thousands of ore and died multiple times to players. Yesterday I logged on to find all my ore and ingots missing, with no explanation... well one possible explanation that I won't get into... and today I was killed once and watched someone else ram their boat into mine for about 10 minutes to try to get to my ore... and no, I do not block a "prime" spot.)
2. Are you talking valorite spots? Spots that occupy a number of mining locations? Or all boats that park?
Just trying to get a feel for what you're saying.

1. it as Nothing to do with Era Accuracy .. just how the Staff runs the game ... giving Every Player the Same advantages to Mine where they can.
2. yes ... i am talking about the Valorite and Verite spots.

A couple things, I understand what you're saying about giving equal access, but we run into the same problem with the housing debate. I'm saving up for 2 things, the hope of buying a keep and a decent vendor house... which both will need to come from players. Because I've accepted this, I'm I'm semi against staff intervention on the boats.
Also, While I know of 3 valorite spots (I think) that are occupied by boats currently, I also know of 2-3 of each verite and valorite that aren't being camped (or at least last I checked they weren't). I've begun making a warrior miner for when I get GM Smith so I can mine in the wilderness. Once again, just something I've come to terms with.
If the staff decides to intervene, so be it. I just ask for consistency with things of this nature.
Btw, do you have a character named Donald Duck? lol

I am not aware of anything else in the game were a single player can horde a resource such as these Mining spots.
and my miner is not Donald Duck ... that was my Bored to Tears GM Fisherman! I think he's having a phsycotic breakdown.

i think this is the reason things aren't done on this issue and others .. it would take a paid staff to police this sort of policy as it is much less as shard grows ..

Ahh, well then he's already adding some risk to this so far as I can tell LOL.
And I consider real estate to be a resource when it's in limited supply for certain types of buildings. That is what I'm referring to.

I'm not saying they couldn't do it, I'm asking about the justification. First, the staff have an approach of minimal involvement if you're not breaking the rules (which I'm in favor of). Second, there are other things subject to hoarding... such as real estate and rares. If there are players who have multiple keeps/castles/towers/etc. or players who camp rare spots and prevent others from obtaining them (not saying there is anything wrong with this, just using as examples), why should this be different?

Why?

I think its because of this reason they threw those ultra strong elementals in certain mining spots that became unearthed over time.

It's my opinion as well, that unless we are willing to interfere consistantly, we shouldn't interfere at all.

You're assuming all those mining there are unattended.

OSI never had issues with single parked boats. I believe the only time i have heard about OSI interfering with boats was when a person or guild would block a whole bay or section of a mountain off with a string of boats.
For that single boat spot on the mountain... sorry, he beat you to it, that is just how it is.
There are many val/ver spots on the main land which spawn at the exact same rate as boat mining mountains.
I dont think staff should interefere unless a string of boats is being used to block of a section of game play area.
There are mining runebooks in libraries... The colored ore is very easy to find... Too bad their is very little demand for it anyway....
On boat break ins... do you know the specifics? Is it a bug or are people using telekenis to loot you boat bc you dont place items in the correct places? Losing boat ore is just being lazy... 1 or 2 gates and some quick macros/clicks and all your ore is in your house or bank. If you choose to leave it stacked then you take the risk (IMHO)
if it matters. I dont boat mine (anymore that is). I have a gm miner/smith and rarely ever use him.
