Wandering Healers

Wandering Healers are beefed up magic casters on this shard. I believe this was post-Nov-1999. Not positive it was UO:R, but I don't believe it was around until some point in 2000. I think they're supposed to be weak - like maybe the HPs of a standard evil red mage, but they don't cast anything. I'm also not sure how they interacted with grey monsters. I didn't think they were targeted by them (nor did they target the grey monsters). But I'm not positive about this.
I just pulled up a treasure chest on an island and watched a wandering healer take down an Elder Gazer 1v1

While this doesn't help answer your post... I just wanted to say that this sounded totally epic, and made me LOL literally! I would love to have seen the Wandering Healer take down that Elder Gazer! Hahaha!

It was amazing, especially since the NPC speech code was inserted about a month ago. The Wandering Healer was talking trash the entire time:
"Stand back! A vile criminal is afoot."
"Thou has proven thyself to be evil."
"'Tis a shame I must smite thee."
That kind of stuff

Wandering healers were always easy kills back in the day because players would kill them to gain the "Dread" Title....
They didn't become strong magic casters until after Trammel had been around for awhile.

Ahhh hahah even better! Ah man this made me laugh again! A trash talking Wandering Healer - why does that seem so hilarious?
