Bull spawn?

Im working on my taming and just started to tame bulls , I went to Del the first day and there were alot right outside of town. I went back the next day and there were zero bulls in and out of Del.I hung around awhile left came back later and still none and it was this way the next day and today. What is up with the respawn? Is there a good substitute for bulls at 75 skill.
