As it stands one can take one of each and about 100 gexp pots, makes for a dull fight. Esp if the one fighter has poisoning. Several poisoning pots and 100 poisoning skill is nullified by a single cure.
Pot management should be quite an ordeal and of you are spamming total refresh versus a macer or gcures vs a nox then you should be punished (in a real battle if you wasted pots like that you would lose).

you are right but i would prefer the oposite way
i think the other potions (poison and explos) should be unlimited as well.

TBH I don't understand why its free use period. Resource management is important in any fight. Scrolls and fish steaks get used up as well. Regs and some pots don't. Whats the rationale?

Thats why it would be good if all potions consumable- except explosion which is to be thrown not digested had a timer on them like heal potions do.

I completely agree that this issue is a problem. All potions should be free use but place a cap for the total used potions. For example, let's say the cap is 20 potions in one match. When any type of potion is used it tallies onto that cap and once the cap has been reached no more potions can be used during that match. This problem is pretty significant during these matches.
Here are some examples.
- The two debuffs weaken and clumsy are completely useless during these fights since there is a limited mana pool for a caster when there is an infinite pool of Strength and Agility potions that can simply be consumed nullifying the two debuffs.
- Total Refreshes can be consumed making macers drastically more useless compared to the standard ruleset. I know food is infinite but that doesn't feel your stamina up in one setting and can take several bites to get full stamina.
- Unlimited cure potions makes poison completely useless and this is simply devestating to a poisoner since poison potions are consumed during the fight if you poison your weapon...
- The same thing can be said for heal potions. Simply pop your ifinite 15-25hp refill everytime the 10 second time elapses.
The problem would simply be fixed if a simple total cap was placed on the amount of potions you consume. This would clearly make using potions become a tactical choice instead of I'm missing <insert potion bonus> here when it becomes available with my infinite number of consuming powers.
Perhaps, the problem is simply the free use feature... If some good ideas was developed towards fixing it in a reasonable manner it may not be a bad thing at all. I know from a code stand point this would be a complete pain in the arse to change, and probably the reason it hasn't been changed so far too. Possibly resources could be selected before the tournament starts during the sign up process that would give out a static pre-selection for each match. This way sudden death could be removed and it if you chose to spam a 1st spell circle or potions a million times you would probably lose pretty quickly. This way duels would actually be based off of actual gameplay instead of this free use crap. It would still essentially be free use but at least there would be an even amount of caps put in place.

the regular tournies without pots are dominated by mages
the ones where pots are allowed are dominated by dexxers
sounds fair to my ears
no really urgent need to change this

Instead of Free Use, should make it victors loot....and up the trophy points, putting all what glitters in neat little gumps when you die.
At least sometimes, make a last man standing the same way.
When you win, you'd win big.

I think it's a big pain for any dexer who tries to win. Mages can simply cure through any poison you throw at them, any stamina loss, and then turn around and dump on you. I don't know if setting a finite limit to the number is a great idea, because some people will stock more than say 20 potions at a time, especially since theres no restock, also I'm not sure how that scripting would work out. Maybe have a minute delay between matches so that people can restock potions and bandages and regs, but have that be all that can be used. None of this free use.

Is there a way for a GM to verify the weight of a character?
Not that I'm a big PvPer or anything, but I feel like if potions are allowed, they should be consumed, and unlimited.
BUT, if you want to ensure each player enters a fight with a weight limit, that's a way to sort of control the length of a match... say a 150 stone limit. It makes decisions on what to carry a little more important (a second shield if you may face a macer? More cures or more refreshes?) and it kind of mimics the field, when no one is actually running around with 350 stones worth of backpack.

yes i agree with son pots should be limited, mages have enough spells to take care of themselves, cure for poison, create food for stamina, mini heal can counter a exp pot just about, and yea it sucks when poisoning skill is useless because dexxers cannot heal like mages can so it makes it even harder to kill when they chug cure pot heal pot cure pot heal pot over and over plus miniheal miniheal gheal

yea i also like mikes idea about making a set weight limit, it would make someone weight the pro and cons of everything they need

That's why they should make tournies like field fights, but instead of just loot they get trophies too should they win.
