House placement..

I'm new to the server (definitely not to UO though) and I'm wondering if there is still a lot of room out there to place houses? Also, are house deeds blessed? I didn't think they were back in the day. It's been a long time since I've played T2A.. so forgive me.

I'm currently making bows like crazy, trying to save up enough $ to buy a house deed. I feel like a newb all over again. hahaha.

Yes, they are blessed.
There is room for maybe 2-3 towers at any given time (plenty more if you wait for random houses to drop, or buy someone with a 7x7 or 14x14 on a tower-sized piece of land), 0 keeps, and plenty of 2-story and large brick house spaces.

Ahh ok! I was going to say - "What!? House deeds are not blessed!?".
Thanks for clearing that up Mikel.
And answer to the OP - there are tons of spots for just about every housing type except Keeps (gotta camp the land, or buy it from someone).

You will lose the deed if:
-You are carrying it within a bag inside a pack, and it's stolen.
-You perform a criminal act and are killed.

That's really good news. I was wondering how the hell I was going to place a house without getting PKed and losing the deed!

Well according to Mikel, just make sure to carry the deed in your MAIN pack, and don't commit a criminal act!
