cant patch to 5.0.8.3

everything worked fine on my laptop but when i tried to install and patch on my desktop it always freezes up and doesnt finish the patch
im running windows xp 64bit, could that be the problem?
my laptop is running windows 7 32bit and everything ran fine

I never patched at all. Game works fine for me.

i figured it out... i just reinstalled UO into the x86 program files folder and the patch worked fine
stupid mistake by me

This is a big problem with the current installer. If you are on a 64 Bit windows, it will install to c:\Program Files by default, and the game will not work.
We're hoping to have another better installer soon.

i had issues so i installed it into the public folder you have to type it manually (or copy and paste) but its something like user/public/games or whatever
the reason i did that was that when updating warcraft to wrath it suggested it for that game
