How can someone not be scammed on kegs? I bought a keg from Vanq's Galore southeast of the Yew moongate. The bag they are in says Deadly Poison Kegs and they are $14k. I took a stupid chance on it and tried to add a Deadly poison from my alchemist and it was a different kind. I tried to ID the keg, is there any other way to do it?

BTW, I know, why didn't I just make my own keg with my alchemist...

Play and learn buddy. The people of $$$ are pretty legit from my encounters so far. Their main vendor hut's on the southwestern tip of Moonglow. There are plenty of vendors out there that will sell you stuff that's way under priced too. I've gotten +15 Power stuff for as cheap as 300 to 1K.

taste id of a potion will id it, but thats after you buy the keg..

Wouldn't Item ID work?

You should be able to TasteID the keg on the vendor. Please confirm that this doesn't work. It did.

I bought healing pots there before and I think they werent greater, I tasted ID'ed the greater explosions the next time that turned out to be greater explosions.

I will have to make a few batches of DP just to see average amount of NS used and I will set my my price based on that. I guarantee it will NOT be more than 17k though. I do recall from the few kegs of DP I have made there are a LOT of failures, something in the range out of 3/4. So while it technically takes 8 ns to make a potion, it will fail 3/4 times, so it really takes like 32.

We at $$$ take great strides to preserve our reputation as the finest and most upstanding salesmen on this shard. I am always in IRC so if something is out of stock or you have a custom order just send me a message. I have been burned on a greater explo keg by a different large vendor on this shard and know how it feels.

20% success rate on Deadly Poison at GM if memory serves, hence: 3gp x 8 shade x 5 tries x 100 = 12k GP production cost.
