Ode to the Newb dagger

I thought I'd list the many ways that the newbie dagger rocks
1) shears sheep
2) skins animals
3) cuts kindling
4) can be deadly poisoned for a nice surprise after res
Sadly, you can no longer make leg jerky with the dagger ;(
What's a poor PK to eat?
Anyone else have uses for the dagger I haven't covered?

Could be handy for adding weight to a bag for gaining stealing, but then again so could anything. I guess that brings me to another:
Increases item count of shard by 1!
