UO Second Age

wondering if we can afk mine without smelting the ore.
would like to do this to hit closer to GM before having to manually sit here
and smelt etc. figured best to ask first. back to the ore hunt

I would not suggest it ..

First off without the rules that are in place.. you would still collect your ore if left alone .. period

Item decay depends on weight .. and I can assure you that if you mine one area of any size and leave ore on ground .. the spawn would have replenished itself before the ore will decay .. seeing how heavy ore is .. thus stacking on top add weight and extended decay time .. so if left alone when you came back you would have mad ore sitting on ground.

Anyways .. don't care to go further .. but given this info .. I'm sure you can make the right Choices.

thought they would just decay within like 20 minutes of sitting there.

When I first started here I rocked out a miner. What I did was I went to cove town and just mined in safety inside the town along the mountainside. I had a friend gate in some pack horses for me. It's a lot easier to just go mine and put all the ore on the horses until they are full. (like 120 ore on each horse i think, but cant remember) Then just run back and smelt it on the forge in town. If you need help getting the pack horses there I can gate them for you.
