Greetings all. I have a question about the tactics skill. Can this be raised by engaging in any sort of combat? Can this be raised by beating up on a training dummy?

Not via beating on a dummy; those only get skills to 25.0 displayed and will never raise tactics.

But you have a chance to raise it every time you connect with a hit with any weapon. For the weapon skills, you have a chance to gain every time you take a swing, regardless of whether it hits or misses.

Consequently, Tactics raises much slower than weapon skills or wrestling.

Tactics is a skill that modifies the damage inflicted in combat, this skill will raise only when you do damage, but also only when the target is of an appropriate difficulty, i.e., you can't gm by fighting rabbits, nor can you gain fighting dragons if you have very low skill
