Purple Potion macro/timer

So, I set a macro for:

Code: Select all

Use type: Purple Potion
Wait for Target
Pause 3.55 sec
Last Target
But, more than half the time, it ends up hitting me.

And, if I make it much less than that, it doesn't hit me but also doesn't hit my fleeing prey.

What do people use for timers on these things? Is there something I'm missing?

i dont use one.. but.. theres a 3 second count down on the pot ("3" "2" "1") .... and youve got 3.55 second wait time... yeah figure that one out..

also, i dont believe that any one single macro will work in all instances, since depending on how far away the target is would determine when you need to throw it.. if they are 3 tiles away it has less distance to travel so maybe you need to hold it for 2.5s, but if they are 9 tiles away maybe you have to hold it for 1.8s...

Well, I know the distance doesn't matter. The animation is irrelevant, like ebolts that can "follow you" for screens on end. The potion effectively teleports to the spot you throw it.

As for the timer, I'm pretty confident it's over 3 seconds, but what the heck I could be wrong.

Does anyone use "Next Humanoid Target" instead of Last Target?

The timer is 3 seconds with a one second damage delay. The damage delay doesn't really matter since it's a simple delay on the damage no different than a spells damage delay.

- Razor -
Use Purple
Pause 2750
Last Object
Wait For Target
Last Target

It's something on those lines.

Do you guys remember when your potion bag accidentally closed its was like OMG WTF?

And when "last object" + "Target Self" Was the p.i.m.p way to use a bandage?

:(

x50000

it's amazing how primitive we were.
I wonder how half of Hybrids player base for example would react to pvp without 15 page scripts that auto heal, chug, apply bandie, wait for...., if poisoned use cure pot, dismount auto feed.

This may be the result of the target being out of range, or out of line of sight.

There is a 3 second countdown followed by a 1 second delay.

I use 3.2 seconds as my timeout, and it works fine 80% of the time. The other 20% is usually because the person either ran out of range/LoS or I just self-bandaged and set myself to LastTarget.

if you're macroing pots, that's your problems right there.

Yes, I know, you're awesome, I suck... you're so good at one aspect of a 10 year old game, I'm so bad at one aspect of a 10 year old game... you're very good at operating a mouse and a keyboard, I am not as good at operating a mouse and a keyboard, etc. Thanks for chiming in here.

Interesting. I think I can go a little longer than that and get a little higher chance of hitting my opponent, but if you're actually hitting a player mid-stride on a horse with 3.2 at an 80% clip, that's good enough for me.

its not about being better, its about being proficient. if you dont mind wasting pots, dying, and so forth, then keep doing the macro thing.

Mikel I think it's just extremely out of character to even ask this question on this shard. PVP macros are extremely looked down upon.

Don't get me wrong, there are people that use them.

Automating pvp is pretty lame.

Lame?

whatever hemp. You cant accually say that if you had a poison dexer, you would use the skill poison with a hotkey, click your pot, then click your sword on your paper doll.

if someone supplied me with the "Faust hally-arm" macro, I would be the happiest boy in the world.
