UO Second Age

Greetings- This is my first post.
I am new to this server, but have already created quite a stir amongst the vile beasts that inhabit these lands.

I have a question about the ancient wyrm in destard lvl 3.

Why is the gulley blocked? That was not the case on Catskills during the t2a era.

I noticed that to. Also another thing is the poison ele room in deceit is walled in with a door. That is another map change. Used to be open there and have exploding mushroom traps...

I dont think they can change static map things or am I wrong?

I'm not sure which you mean by the gulley, but yes there are some static map changes in the client that are mostly beyond our control. For a reduction of these changes, use client version 5.0.8.3, which is what the shard's internal map is based on.

I'm almost positive there was a door to the PE room on Deceit lvl3 on Chesapeake. Spawns and other things did vary from shard to shard to some degree, but at the same time I may be remembering that door incorrectly.

They are referring to that little dip in the middle with the stalagmites.. Before AI was bumped some intelligence, there were a few little tricks you could use to kill the ancient wyrm pretty easily..

I remember a door as well on Atlantic. But on Atlantic it was a rare occurance to see a PE, maybe one a day.

Yes I was referring to the dip that is now filled in with stalagtites stalagmites? Which ever form on the ground, lol.

Anyway, it is a shame that these can not be removed because it is a map change that occured post t2a (honestly I cant remember them ever being on catskills but I could easily be wrong).

How the hell are you supposed to kill the ancient now? I have a bard and a tank mage, and I cant quite think up a safe strategy. I want a peice of that though, unf unf unf.

whats the mana on one of those beasts? should I keep entering/exiting the level as I drop blades?
Back in the day I used the "dip" to trap it while i let it dump its mana, then I bladed the bitch.

The ancient wyrm is one of the very few creatures here that is intentionally not era accurate. He's quite a bit beefed up and will auto-dispel. The intent is to provide a unique challenge, the loot has been upped accordingly.

In that case, make it harder!

If one spawns i can attempt to kill it.

but now the problem is.. no spawn!!

They spawn but not often, while picking locks today I barely made it out...evs did nothing. Would love to try and take this bitch down.

Beleive me. I'd rather see it walled off so that poison ele isnt running around like a maniac. But here are some Screenshots on deceit from greatlakes.

He was my best freinds older friend who introduced him to UO.. what a crazy pic.. although when I talk about watching my friends in t2a FS'ing lichlords, he is the guy I was talking about!! what a small world
