Horse Stamina

I know some people have noticed that horses fatigue a lot easier lately. One way to get around this is to get off, do the follow command and target yourself, then get back on. It refreshes the horse, someone at GY told me it was a bug from OSI, but I can't recall. Horses definitely are fatiguing faster, though. I was wondering why this changed and if it is going to be permanent?

Started noticing this as well.
I think it's a perfect level right now.
It does play a factor in fights sometimes, which is good, because it did back in the day. the "follow" bug works, which is good, because it did back in the day. And it's not an issue at all most of the time, which is also accurate & good.
I think we found the right balance.

i disagree. "follow" command does nothing for me. and it comes after 5< mins of running.

Can anyone provide some more specific information on what the difference seems to be?
I did touch a file last week that could have effected the mount fatigue indirectly; however I'm thinking that I may have fixed it rather than broken it. I only now stumbled on this thread, so I haven't had a chance to test myself.

actually for awhile horse stamina and personal stamina was practically infinite while running not too long ago. My stamina dropped a grand total of one point no matter where I ran to.

Early last week (Mon? Tues?) you made some changes and after the server came back online mount stamina was seemingly reverted to how it was a number of months ago (very low stamina) as opposed to how it had been recently (nearly infinite mount stamina).
A trip from PoV lands (near Bloody Plains) to Cove bank & back to PoV lands exhausted a mount when I tested this last week.* Prior to that I honestly don't recall the last time I had fatigued a mount, but I know it had been a long time. Dismount > all follow me > remount did work for refreshing mount stamina.
* Mount used was an NPC purchased horse

Fwiw I haven't noticed mount stamina changes in a *real* long time and I seriously run. I think the last time was when something got put in that caused mounts to be worn out by the time they reached the tailor shop in Delucia from the Inn there - that was a day or so thing and got fixed.

My mare ran out of stamina running from LL room to ice two days ago, and I was kinda shocked.

I had to abandon two horses fielding last night. My first time fielding in months, and my guildmate's nightmare also became fatigued. The stamina decrease is very noticeable.

Just a bit ago I ran from Cove Bank to Minoc Stables before my mount became too fatigued to move.

Dunno if it makes a difference, but I took an ostard from the middle of Trin to WBB before I got the low stamina message.
Not sure what they used to be though, cause I've always used horses. I do know I ran around for like an hour once (around Thanksgiving), and only had to "refresh" my horse like 3 times.

I ride a horse everywhere, with 78 dex in full plate riding from Britain to
Yew at a canter(not full out gallop, faster that trot) I'll get a message my
horse is "very fatigued" near the swamp. I always slow at that point so I dont
know if it'll start dropping my stamina.
Maybe someone is willing to repeat his run here and tell us how far he gets...
But I'm not sure what swamp you see when running from Britain to Yew

unless he took the long route

I believe we're still sapping mount stamina based on the weight of the character + inventory. So if you carry a lot of potions, you're going to run out of stamina faster than someone who travels light.
Again, I think it's perfect just the way it is right now. It's usually not an issue, but it is something to keep in mind. When I'm stocking my character, I do actually make a concerted effort to try to stay as light as possible.

I usually carry very little (or nothing on my char), and my horse still gets fatigued after some short running. I think the stamina is too low... don't remember that happening back in t2a.
