lockpicking.

Hi. I'm trying to raise lockpicking from 49.0 but I already have a nearly GM tinker and don't want to make another. Anyone know of a good spot to train?
Edit: Or of any vendors that sell locked boxes for skill gain.

On the flip side of this dilemma, I came up with a really simple razor macro for picking a crate and relocking it should you succeed
Looks something like:
Double click (lockpicks)
wait for target
absolute target (crate)
pause 5 seconds
end if
If system message "The lock quickly yields to your skill"
double click (key to crate)
wait for target
absolute target (crate)

You could just make a new Tinker character, 50 lockpicking, 50 carpentry, and make a lockable box at that skill level, couldn't you? And then just delete the character 7 days later.

possibly. Not sure if that will take me skillwise where I need to be to pick my current tinkers boxes. Worth a shot though.

I am pretty sure it will. 95% sure that's how I got to GM - made a 50/50 box, used that to 75 or so, and then used a GM box to 95.0.
You break a lot of lockpicks; you'd break less if you had a 60/60, 70/70, 80/80 box on the way, but that's impractical.
I can also sell you some lockpicks quite cheaply if you need them - though I'm guessing if you have a high-level tinker, you have plenty yourself

If you get stuck i have 4 sets of boxes at 40,50,60 and 70 tinkering skill..still working towards 80,90 and gm. I figured it couldn`t hurt to have few boxes at different skill levels for when i start my lockpicker at 30.
