Just wonder if this is Era Accurate or a Bug. Once you begin digging a treasure chest, you can remount your horse, and you will continue digging while mounted without any digging animation.

Is this mechanic correct?

Yes. You cannot pick up or move items, hide or use jewelry until the chest has been completely dug up, however.

Yeah, I knew every other action would stop the digging, just wasn't sure if mounting on the horse not stopping the action was era accurate or a bug

technically you arent supposed to be able to dig chests up on horseback as it is stated literally.

Well it lets you... dismount, start digging, remount while digging, you keep digging Not sure if it is meant to or not.


Anyone know for certain if this is era accurate/bug?

I don't know either. I'm happy to fix this if we can find any indication that this wasn't/isn't possible on OSI/EA

No problem. I am wondering if this is also possible while mining ore.. not that it really matters since mining ore is fast but it would be interesting to see.

Start mining, mount really fast, see if you collect the ore. Will try to do some research later today and see if I can find any evidence of this back in T2A, I honestly can't remember if this was the case or not.

on osi couldn't you also dig up a chest if you wee standing on it? resulting in the hunter standing on top of the chest and out of sight of the monsters?

1. Go to coordinates.
2. Cast a gate.
3. Start Digging.
4. Double click gate.
5. Wait for chest...
6. Go back to coords from a safe distance.
7. Profit.

Bumping this because it no longer seems possible.

I've tried searching for a thread on this but can't find one... was the ability to hop onto a horse and continue digging determined to be a bug and removed purposefully, or was it a mistake?

No intentional change was made to this; we did do some tweaking in the harvest system a few weeks ago, it's possible that we may have inadvertently changed this.

Still not knowing whether it's correct or not I'm hesitant to make any purposeful changes. Does Matrons 7 step program above still work?

No, they both stopped working at the same time. Can't say exactly when, but it's been like this for a while now.
