UO Second Age

Hey,

I played UO for around a year back in this era, but quit after the Trammel thing happened. I wasn't really that skilled at the time, and I had my hand held by an older friend, so I still am fairly uneducated on the game. I was in a virtuous guild on the old OSI servers, and I was wondering if there are any lawful good defender of the innocent type guilds on this server? I'm still working on getting gold, buying a house, crafting, etc., but I'd like to eventually settle down with a guild for RP events as well as PvM or PvP content. I'm not the type of guy to seek out a fight, but I don't like when PKs pick on young players or those who cannot defend themselves. Let me know what guilds you all think I would be interested, and I'll keep my eyes and ears open in game, and perhaps attempt to befriend some of these individuals. Thank you.

Dont exist here my friend. If you want PVM be prepared for a pk to roll in literaly every 5 minutes. Then after they kill you more pks will roll in and kill them because thats how infested it is here. This isnt T2A this is pk online. It can never be like the real T2A when a glorious lord really was a good guy and there were antis and there were good reputable people. Why? Because all those people who were good and nice are playing WoW now. And the only people who still come to UO are the pks, because its the only place left where they can fuck everyone over so freely. So unless your here to kill everyone and steal and greif then your in the wrong T2A. I tried to start an ANTI guild and didnt get a single person wanting to join. This is UO the dark ages. Welcome to hell.

The thing is you can't be just "against the murderers".
Most guilds have their own blues as well as reds.
If you are in a grudge war without it being acknowledged you may have no other choice but to go red.
That's how it works.

It's not merely Good vs. Evil. Morality isn't as simple as Lord British makes it sound. There are those who have taken the wilds for their domain.

Except for the sociopaths that wish to war everyone, a red blip on the screen doesnt necessarily mean you will be attacked on sight. On the contrary they may have a monitor on another group which may have been active where you are and just showed up a bit early.

I am willing to fight a losing battle if PKs truly are as rampant as you say. If anything is to be done regarding this menace, then it must take other brave individuals who are willing to take back control of the frontier. Sacrifices must be made, and I'm certainly willing to put in work and do my fair share. I would hope that PKs don't two-box with a blue healing them or holding their gear... certainly seems to be against the spirit of the game. Either way, I'm just looking for a good time, and I've never been a murderer, nor do I ever plan on being one. As far as I can tell, this is the biggest/most populated and most accurate T2A shard there is, so if this is where I have to make a stand, I will do it regardless of the odds. No matter what game I play I always have a longing for UO's freedom. I'll see you guys in game, thanks for the help!

Hey you seem pretty cool! I too am looking for a new RP guild to join. A few weeks ago I was invited to join a RP guild, but they were bandits and not necessarily "good". However, this is not the reason I'm thinking of quitting. Literally no one has logged on aside from a macroer in weeks. And originally my char wasn't intended to be evil. There are a few "anti-evil" RP guilds here but most I've seen are about Knighthood... I have no interest in being a Knight! Or making a new char with a first and last name.

Let me know if you find any casual roleplay guilds! PvP is great here but I want to RP as well! =)

Well, PoV is anti pk and now has around 90 on their charter.

Pks have always been part of UO, and good thing PoV and their allies exist because we have managed kill statloss pks even when they have blue alts gating them out . Sure they have lots of characters, but we're doing the best we can and staying blue at the same time!

PoV...Zsv...C^V? All three of which are on the first page of the guilds list, meaning they're some of the more popular guilds...

Just because sTo 2.0 didn't work out doesn't mean there aren't anti's here.....simply untrue.

It's a sad truth that most people here who log on regularly have become bored with UO so their only means of entertainment here tends to be killing other players. PK's are a BIG problem here as they are rampant, but that doesn't mean that they own the shard. I have managed to stay Glorious Lord for a long time now and enjoy the cat/mouse game with the reds that continually roll through the hot spots. Every time I recall out in the nick of time I can just imagine the curses that they are shouting at their comp screens. Anyway people shouldn't give up because of PK's, just find like minded people to hang out with. There is safety in numbers and these forums are a great place to find allies to hunt together.

Learn to prepare yourself and you will very rarely get PKed. The sad fact is that those who complain about getting PKed the most are the same people who don't prepare themselves. They're the same people that only bother to carry one trapped pouch (or zero!) instead of 3 or more. They don't carry greater heal potions or total refresh potions, even though carrying just 2 of each will absolutely save your ass. They don't have a recall macro set up. Etc.

It really only takes a very, very small investment of time and money to do things like that, and they will probably cut the rate at which you die to PKs to one fifth of what it was. 2 yellow potions, 2 red potions, a recall macro & rune, 3 trapped pouches, and a horse. If you think they 3 extra minutes it takes to gather this before you go out adventuring is too much, remember that next time you'r walking back to town to resurrect. It's well worth the time & investment.

Seriously though you guys need to join ACE, TG or some other guild so you can learn how to do those dirty deeds correctly.

Wow, dark man, really dark. I know it seems like that's all there is on this shard, but I think that's because the people who don't grief or PK tend to find remote spots and stick to themselves. Doesn't mean they're not here, they're just hard to find. I think the problem with this shard is that there are so many immature assholes who really have nothing better to do than take out their RL angst on everyone else here. That's been UO for as long as it's been around.

The reason you don't find any strong anti-guilds here is because there just aren't any strong leaders who have the patience and the resolve to make one work. It's HARD work man, making a "fly by night" guild that changes it's charter every other day is easy. You just tell everyone what they want to hear, give them some stuff, put the guild on autopilot when you have better things to do and voila a clusterfuck. PK guilds are even easier, macro up, gear up and go out and kill peeps.......1-2-3 kinda like jiffy pop popcorn. No thought, no skill, no problem

A true anti-guild is a long, tedious, THANKLESS, grind that sucks your will to live through the first several weeks or months of it's inception. A strong, dedicated leader is the only thing that will keep it going and let's face it, those kinds of people are few if not non-existent on this shard.
